I'm from Texas and have been doing underground telephone / fiber for 9 years. I've done everything from placing the conduit and handholes even place big manholes. I've pulled 2500 pair copper cable and 864 fiber and everything in-between. Miles and miles of it all over the state of Texas. I've pulled cable everyway imaginable but this was is the hardest way to do it. Not hating I just know what it's like to pull fiber like that. Much respect to all those guys working hard 💪
hi, I have 4 years of experience in telecommunications, I am currently working as an optical fiber installer in the homes of private clients, I also have extensive experience laying cables underground and by air, I live in Portugal, I dream of moving to Texas, can I contact you?
I'm a cabling worker. We do it slightly different in the UK. We do use cobra rods but they tend to not go as far and can't put alot of force behind them if the duct is congested. Best thing to use is hand rods, 25mm by 3m length. Can push them with alot of force. I've done one section of 320m through a congested manhole duct with 4 other blokes Edit: the amount of workers you see rodding here is not how we do it. Like we normally work in a group of 2 per job. If its hard with just the 2 of us, we can then call for additional engineers for an assist. I would like to work abroad and try out how its like in different places and countries. Love abit of cabling 😁
I'm a cabler I wish we had that many people. There's only 2 gang cablers around and plus this video is showing a simple version of what it's really like out there
Informative video, wow the health and safety laws differ greatly compared to the U.K., where traffic management and barriers would be required to protect the cable gang
like your videos iam from chicago il in north america i work running fiber 432 fiber is really heavy and big we used a machine to pull make a faster Lest people keep making good videos
I remember doing that in Iraq for the c ram but of course we did it a bit diffrent we didn't use wire we used mule tape I believe (so long ago) to pull the fiber along
thank you for your effort , but you must make a figure 8 shape before laying the cable , and the cable had been pended at the manhole edge , that might break it
OK get an air compressor and blow a string attached to a sponge...... it will even clean the interior of the conduit, then pull the rodder, or even fiber.
The recommended distance between two hanhhole is 250 meters. Please watch my handhole construction guide on this link: ua-cam.com/video/ggQsdcXaQTs/v-deo.html
yes if the telecom is willing to spend for the cost. introducing branching closure on the handhole and setting up riser pole, and suspend fiber aerial towards you will be one of the solution.
Emerson Jr Cumlat thank you. I'm just anxious coz i think converge is expanding it's connection up here to the northern part of luzon. Saw some fibr cables being dug along side of mcarthur highway and just desperate to get connected to fibr. tired of data cappings 😭 barrio problems
@@Adaline0717 the cable that Converge usually laid underground are backhaul or feeder cables; not intended for consumer use. You should look after those white boxes attached on poles na may mga drop cables. This will give you sign that fiber to the home is available on your area.
Emerson Jr Cumlat as of now, i don't see any poles near my location. What i only i see are those holes with cables on it. I guess im losing hope of getting a fibr connection. forever stuck na ko sa globe broadband 😭
Wow, very much a manual labour job. Why not use muletape? A fabric tape you pull back with the rodder. You can then attach the muletape to the fiber cable and pull on the muletape. You can put a new piece of muletape in at the same time. Also, I see you are simply taking coils off the reel. This would result in twists when you go to place the cable. Why not unreel it and store it with figure 8s? This should prevent twists.
@Emerson Cumlat hehehe sabi na yun pasulong nayan lagpas ng gate ng napocor vill emong malungay pandesal eh sa May school, 5 years nako Di pumupunta diyan pero mukang nothing change May CHIX ako dati diyan hehehe..nag hahanap ako ng diy cable installation dto ako binagsak ng youtube hahaha napa reminisce pa bigla..
this is very inneffective with a risk of damaging the cable. if you drag it with to much force, there is a decent chance the cable will be under to much force and the fiber can snap. ofc it depends on the distance it is beeing pulled, but sience it seems to need atleast 4 people to do so i assume to much force is beeing used. just a small nick on the cable , can cause singnal errors. what you do is to send a cable underground is using a air compressor and you liturally blow the cable in the tubes underground till it goes to the end, ive blown 90 fiber cable 100m a minute persoanlly, ofc, that is risky aswell due to if it comes to a instant halt you can kiss that cable goodbye.
....i do this every day.....this video is overkill x 1000....we shoot a dart with a compressor up the duct with 2500 lb muletape to MH#2 tie cable to muletape with 3 slipknots and TAPE with electrical tape .......DONE... no braiding of wire or stupid shit like this video.......PS we do it with a crew of 3 .....
You forgot to put a 2500 swivel on there Before you pull Half hitches are no good cable and rerope can wrap around each other and other cables when pulling

How much is the pay or starting pay? I'm seeing an ad in my city for at&t buried fiber cable, says 40hr. Is that bullshit?
@@anonymousbullet7407 I was referring to the pay. $40 per hour is what it says to start. I always work 40hrs a week or more when needed.
I found this video to be helpful. Thank you.
Informative video, wow the health and safety laws differ greatly compared to the U.K., where traffic management and barriers would be required to protect the cable gang
Nice video mate ! Cheers from Australia
We are using diameter of 110mm uPVC pipe, therefore we only used insulation tape to secure the fiber optic cable and rodder

I agree with this. Thank you.
@Mj Zuikenas I agree do u k o where I can find video for upgrading vaults or digging up new vault where conduit is already there
Very informative I like your videos
May I have your WhatsApp number ?

verry good industry internet 😘😘optical fibre cable no one industry of the internet

if my location is approximately 700 meters from the nearest handhole. Could it still be possible to be connected to a fibr connection?

Paano kaya magkakaganito area namin sir? Magrequest po kaya sa Mayor or Brgy Captain or sa ISP? Hehe
si ISP ang nagrereview kung high demand ang place niyo malalatagan kayo ng fiber.
magkano po labor jan sir ? per Meters po ba ?
Per meter ang payment from the vendor., pero kung sa labor mo pwede mo silang bayaran per day basis.
Thanks for the good content

You mean you don't have preform grips and build one with lashing wire each time ? Such a waste of time is all..
This is for a case or instance that the preformed guy grip is not availablr.
