It's a fact that in the past, mostly up until the 1960s and mainly democrats, used policies to hold back black people (jim Crow, redlining, etc) Id like to know if she feels in her timeline of growing up how she feels she was specifically held back. Does she think if it wasnt for systemic racism she would be a billionaire president or something? She looks pretty successful to me.

I really love how she make this an invitation to help the entire community, rather than an attack on one group by another.

A wonderful message for all of us to reflect upon. I agree we don't have all the answers to address the inequities and challenges right in front of us. BUT we must all participate in these challenging and difficult issues through a lens of elevated discussions and immediate and practical measures. A just and equitable future for all our grandchildren and their grandchildren will come sooner when we all work together adopting the reality of the oneness of humankind in all levels of society. Applying the principle of 'justice' at the intersection between individuals, communities and governance is a good foundation to start.

Equity does not mean justice. It is just another form of discrimination in itself.
