Tim, I’ve seen shredders/bushhog, and even flail mowers chew on the stalks a bit before the chisel plow comes out. Most new cornpickers mulch it up pretty good on their own. You just need a 12-15 bushhog to run over your fields real quick. Of course, if it was drier, you wouldn’t be having so bad a time of it. Great video
Those are expensive. I have an 18' woods finish mower that I picked up chep. However, it still has a couple more things that need to be repaired. I have used the chisel plow on corn stalks before, but in this heavy stubble, it will plug up. I did have some pretty good yeild in this field.

I see that a lot from the cab. The disc blade is lined up and sometimes makes a trench so the wheel is not touching the ground. Hopefully, that makes sense. Thanks for your comments, and hope you have a great year.

Did you try to hit it at a bite of an angle with the rows, it may help with the plugging
It did help some for a little bit, but then the dew started to set in, and then it was over. Thanks for the thought. I appreciate it.
