Stellar goaltending is once again hiding many of the Rangers flaws. They'll never win the cup with this core and system.

I predict Gadjovich will be active for this series. Nobody on the Rangers wanted any piece of him during the regular season. We'll see what happens in the playoffs.

I think it will be a bit of a let down. Both these teams have played multiple games where they just didn't show up. I think it'll get dragged out for that reason alone.
As a rangers fan this was the outcome i was most nervous about. This is going to be the toughest series of any teams in entire playoffs

the only reason the blocks per 60 for Florida is 14.75 is because they limit shots so well. if they allowed more shot attempts they would have a hight block number.
I honestly can see this series going to 10 games. Dont ask how.

Just realized that every year since 2018, a team from the Atlantic division has represented the East in the finals (2019 Bruins, 2020-22 Lightning, 2023 panthers) let’s see if the rangers can break that streak

Me too, but I’m glad it’s Florida. If we beat Boston, I wouldn’t still be sure if the Rangers could win the cup in the finals, but if we beat Florida I will 100% believe the Rangers are winning the cup. You need to beat the best to be the best.

Tkachuk and Bennett will try to get him off his game, so Ranger D guys will need a lot of snarl.
Both teams need to stay out of box. Rempe might be helpful in this series, especially at MSG.

I too would like to see Rempe be a force, he showed maturity during the Caps series by not being baited into fights, if he can break down the Panthers D-men on the boards, without taking bad penalties, (this is a big if), I think he ends up being the X factor if the Rangers win the series.
Igor has allowed way more goals than Bob. He's also much more inconsistent.

grew up in nyc and ft laud.. very excited about this round.
To me, for Florida this series is all about execution. We've seen the cats have the ability to flip the switch and play an absolute domination style. If they can be lights out in 4 or 5 of these games, they win. The Rangers will be more capable of taking advantage of the Cats' lulls than any of their previous opponents. It's gonna take at least 4 full 60 minute games to beat NYR.
I’m a rangers fan but I’m honestly curious do the panthers even have any weaknesses and what are they. I’ll tell you the rangers like to give odd man rushers and fall asleep occasionally. I got Florida in 6 but we’ll see.
@@alexn36300 It will be a very tough fought series but going into it I would say that the Rangers are the better puck handling team, the better power play team, the better come-back team, have the better goalie, and play Game Seven at MSG. If we can match in physicality and also in discipline then we can win. We'll see how it goes... :) LGR!

I’m rooting for a Trouba v Barkov fight.
You guys are laughable. One, Barkov isn't going to toss his mitts, especially for scrubs. Tkachuck isn't either. Got a 100 pt player on your team? That's a fair trade from Chucky's perspective.
Rempe would just be a liability against a fast smart team like the Panthers. Cats feed off of overly aggressive hitters like Trouba and are better at finishing than the opponents NYR have faced so far.

Rempe would only be fighting Mikkola they are the same size, and temperament.
@tontweer Well, Rempe wanted no part of Gadjovich in the regular season. We'll probably see him in this series, too. Depends what Maurice wants to do.
For save % it's a little skewed cause Carolina shoots quantity over quality where Tampa and Boston are the opposite until desperation kicked in. Igor seems to struggle in up close saves and that's Florida's bread and butter
This will be a hard fought clash of the titans series. This I feel will automatically be 7 games. I'm going to take Florida here because I give them the slight advantage 5 on 5.

I would be depressed the next day at school, thinking it was because I didn't believe or cheer enough. It almost sounds like a branch of imposter syndrome. I have no idea in this one both great teams and this could go either way with talent on both sides. Should be a great series. I’ll be rooting for FLA - but neither are my team I’m simply rooting for an all ‘never won a cup’ final between FLA and VAN.
Panthers and Canucks are also the two teams with longest distance between them.

Rangers have the advantage of playing the entire series at home. Rangers fans have bought up all the tickets and over paying big time. This is what NY does, they either travel or people in S FL are from NY. Even when the Heat had Lebron the Knicks fans still showed up nonstop. Now that the Knicks are out, all eyes in NY will be on this series. However this series needed to happen. Another revenge series from previous playoffs. I wouldn't bet a penny on this series because its too close. It could be a sweep either way, or a 7 game series with either team winning. Nothing would be surprising. If the pattern continues, R 1 5 games, R 2, 6 games, R 3 7 games Panthers. Same for the cup run in 1996. All the goal tending will be in this series. West will be a gun-slinging show case. My pick goes to FL just be its my team. I just hope Rempe doesnt pull more BS and injure players just to injure them because he is a worthless goon.

This series is gonna make for such a classic! This could be one of the years where the "real" cup champs really are the east champs, although the Stars and Oettinger look like a tough out. My prediction of Canes over Oilers in the final was busted, but Dallas vs either Florida or NYR could be an all-time great cup final.

I think this was the best possible outcome for me as a fan. Both teams know how to be violent, show skill and have great goaltending. I argue the Panthers have been *slightly* more dominant in their two series wins, but the Rangers beating a stacked Canes team was impressive.
I would be happy to see either team in the finals to be honest. Gun to head, im going Cats in 7. It will be an all out war.
@ScottStenlundif you want to look at regular season games, the panthers won the season series. But we both know the regular season doesn’t matter, so its going to be a good fight between the two, and the panthers are far more capable than people believe.
I don’t think the numbers do justice on the Rangers PP. Its insanely fluid even when they don’t covert i’ve never seen anything like it.

It's gonna be a great series. I can't wait. I love my Panthers going into this one. As far as the save percentage goes, that number doesn't show how good Bob has been. His goals against average is better than Igor's. We block a lot of shots, but we give up more high danger chances. That's why Bob's save percentage is lower and his saves have been highlight worthy. #GOCATSGO #VEZINABOB

Something about Bobby's save percent that is a bit misleading too. The Cats kept the Bruins in THREE straight games under 20 shots. He let in 1-2 goals in each of those games and they still won. So, he didn't need to work quite as much. If the Cats were giving up 28-30 shots per game, which is about average you'd think, his save percent would probably be about the same as Shesterkin's. This is going to be one HELL of a good series. Pulling for the Cats in 7, but it really could go either way. I think their physicality is going to make the difference as well as if they can stay out of the box.

I love my Panthers to death, and def riding the high from beating the Bruins. But idk, I feel like Rangers do everything the Panthers do but better. Just an all around more solid team. I don't see us winning the series, but I hope we at least don't get swept. LETS GO PANTHERS 🙌💖✨

Speed is great, IF they combine it with managing the puck, and avoiding odd-man rushes the other way. BTW, I'm more comfortable when people give them too little respect, than too much. at this point.. they are all good... I think Shesterkin could be the X-Factor. We'll have to see... I know I wouldn't put more than $1 on this series...The 1 oddity so far.. the 3 teams so far in the conference finals are all divisional winners... Vancouver can become the 4th tonight... when was the last time the All of the #1's in their brackets all got this far? Usually someone gets knocked off.. and even if the canucks fail, Edmonton is not a major upset

As a Panthers fan, I’m concerned by the way the Rangers handled a very good Carolina team. Panthers will need to stay out of the penalty box and stand up at the blue line. Should be a great series. Two elite Russian goalies will duel.

Rempe going to pull some high paid players off the ice for flordia early in the series? NYR in 7. Top Notch coaches, Laviolette's first year on the team; would like to think hes the spark to get them to the finals. Going to be a great series and will really push the new found discipline of the panthers trying to stay within the lines not taking too many penalties. Rangers power play is elite.
It's only elite if they have the chance to use it! It's also the only thing about the rags that's better than the Panthers! They stay out of the box and they win!
Panthers have Gadjovic waiting with a fresh contract signed for this purpose. I can see him blasting some of the smaller NYR forwards if it comes to it. He also is an experienced chucker who would do quite well head to head.

If the Rangers come out and play a full 60 each game i believe NYR in 6. As we know they often dont. They are amazingly opportunistic hence. The Game 6 win. Every screams about their 5v5 play. A goal is a goal is a goal. LGR.

Both teams led by former Hurricanes head coaches. I hate both teams. That said, I guess I'd rather have lost yo the team that makes/wins the Finals. I think Florida has something to prove from last year's finals exit so I'll go Panthers in 7.

It will be interesting to see if the Rangers trail at any point in this series. They really haven't been pressured in a "big game" situation yet. Game 6 was important but they still had Game 7. If Florida were to win 2 out of the first 3, or put Rangers in a real pressure situation having to win a Game 5 with series tied at 2, that would be the first real adversity Rangers have had.

Yeah the rangers have allowed 4 goals on the pp and have also gotten 4 shorty's this postseason.
A lot of people picked Carolina over New York and look at what happened.
Carolina would have won the series if they had better goaltending. Florida has better goaltending and defense. They will win
Rangers edge, when rested, they seem to be at their best, theyve never shown any rust. This team has had 3 extended periods of rest since October. One in late January, they proceeded to then win 9 straight.. A nice rest before the playoffs started, they win 4 in a row, they get a nice rest again thanks to the quick disposal of the Caps, then proceed to win 3 in a row and were tied in game 4 in the 3rd period. One thing I noticed the Florida coach said after the Boston series. He said, to be a team that relies on offense to win you games, you need a lot of moving parts working well at the right time. To be a team that relies on defense to win you games, you play a system and even injuries don't affect too much and you just grind until the other team makes the mistake. So, if this is accurate I think the Florida series is going to be a similar to the Carolina series except Florida has a better goalie. And the separation to me is thin enough that its going to be who gets the breaks at the right time, who comes up big at the right time. It seems very even to me. The Rangers have beaten and been beaten by every team left in the playoffs during the regular season. But as Shannon said, probably doesn't matter. If the Rangers are going to win Lafreniere and Panarin need to show up again like they did early in the Carolina series. I hope they do.

Whoever wins this series is going to hobble into the finals injured from this violent series for stars to eat up.
Rangers are my team but it doesn't get more evenly matched than this. It's going to be a phenomenal series.
It seems to me that whoever wins in the west is going to have to present a complete performance to knock off the east regardless who comes through. The east has been really fun to watch these playoffs. No discredit to the west with some good battles being had and on going. Would be nice to see a Canadian team in the final but Oettinger might have something to say against that.

Ranger fan here. This is the matchup I've been dreading. I think Florida's physicality and goal scoring might be too much for the Rangers. Although Igor has played masterfully the past two series, if the Rangers continue to lean on him the way they did against the Canes, he will eventually start to falter. Panarin needs to have the series of his career and the Rangers need to step up the physicality or this is not going to go well. Then again, the Rangers do have the comeback powers this postseason...
I agree with you. On the positive side, Rangers are the better puck handling team, the better power play team, the better come-back team, the team with the better goalie, and the Rangers get to play Game Seven at MSG. But, this advantage seems like it will be a razor thin edge... This series might be one for the ages.
I have been watching the team since 1967. So far, the greatest series (for me) have been: Rangers/Devils 1994, Rangers/Canucks 1994, Rangers/Penguins 2022, and Rangers/Bruins 1972 (we lost that one)... LGR!!
