Yes sir, you ARE doing a GREAT job! Wonderful to watch your decades of experience being out to good use. Thank you. I've gotta set up a repair bench and learn the art of electronic repair.
I have a very low hour MCS 3236 and it has connection problems at the rear. Strongly forcibly moving the RCA cables at the plugs on the back and the sound will come on till I release the cable ends. Plus most of the push buttons pop loudly when pressed. This unit is clean as new inside and out. Just plagued with bad connections. Gonna have to take it for repairs. Using another identical back up unit now that has some cosmetic issues but want my super nice one fixed.
Great work as is your usual. You really should have replaced those, obviously bad, capacitors. Would not have taken 10 mins and less than $1 in parts. I do appreciate the quality of your work! Keep it up. I'm always looking forward to your next video. THANK YOU!
There's one of those located at my local Flea Market that's pretty cheap price wise but I didn't know anything about that brand. I may pick it up now 😅
A common fault with an uncommon cause. Goes to show it's not always capacitors which give this kind of trouble. I've never known fuse holders to fail like that. A "tricky problem to find, but relatively inexpensive repair" and hopefully the owner enjoys a now working receiver for yet another 100,000 km or so.
seeing your vid i got a lead on one of these for $50.. looks like a decent receiver to work on if needed.. love the LED meters.. oh.. and the title is wrong.. it's 3248 you have it as 2348.. might get more views if you correct it..
Uh oh!
You've made a clean spot.
You know what that means, don't you?
You now have to clean all of it.
Excellent example of how to troubleshoot a problem. Cut the problem in half, then cut the remaining problem in half, rinse and repeat. Good job!
When you stop to think, it’s kind of special that the life of this has been preserved. Thanks NorCal

bit off topic but relatable......"One channel out" on the stereo sounds like a couple Panasonic camcorders in my possession

1:50 those leds are "bendies" for use in pinball machines 🙂
Yes sir! I installed them in this unit. It's the most economical way to re lamp with led's that I have found and they look cool.
Hi. Can you do a video how to clean dirty amps like this one.?

Are you using a fume extractor ? I can see a lot of fumes when you solder
what kind of solder fo you use ? your solder joints allways look shiny !!

Just regular 60/40 or 63/37 Kester leaded solder
