When you are at Wacken and you listen very careful deep in the night, you will still hear the echos of that song!
That's because everyone is obligated to sing it at least once at the campfire ;) (...the Bard Song I mean)
@@Kimrah01 100% true!!!
To be precise: the echoes still run around the lovely hills around Wacken. Next year, the echoes will be refreshed as Blind Guardian is confirmed for Wacken 2024.

If I ever find a video of this show without this comment, I will be deeply disappointed.
Legend has it that the crowd is still singing Valhalla to this day
Maybe it is not a legend. 😁
How does a musician know when they've truly made it?
When your fans travel hundreds, even thousands of miles for a show, pay to see you, then THEY sing your songs to you. That's the very top of a musician's world.
Sadikiy... when you said there are no concerts there, I just wanted to hug you. I feel for you so much!
I would give this reaction 1000 likes! The most influential band of my life... Thanks for this reaction!!
"The Bard's Song" used to be the lullaby my mom sang me to sleep with. It's a legendary song, especially in Germany
Woah amazing! I used it as a lullaby for my dog haha XD. I used to sing to him when he was a pup to calm him down, now he wags his tail every time he hears me sing.
sounds like a really cool mom...
@@Metzwerg74 true :D
Well,....Blind Guardian has been here for a while.
Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in 1984 in Krefeld, West Germany.
They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Nine musicians have been a part of the band's line-up in its history, which currently consists of singer Hansi Kürsch, guitarists André Olbrich and Marcus Siepen and, since 2005, drummer Frederik Ehmke.
So,...The Bard's song... medieval is a correct term, forget everything core-related!
In Celtic cultures, a "BARD" is a professional storyteller, verse-maker, music composer, oral historian and genealogist, employed by a patron (such as a monarch or chieftain) to commemorate one or more of the patron's ancestors and to praise the patron's own activities.
This song is about the bard's life... Each day finds them in a new place, where no one knows who they are. All they know is the songs the bards sing and the worlds they are taken to by them. When it's all said and done the bards pack up and moves on, no one to ever know their name, only the stories they brought with them. It's about how they did it all for the music and the stories. And the bard's songs will remain. In my thoughts and in my dreams.
AND next,... Valhalla !!!
"Valhalla" is Old Norse and it means "halls of the slain". In Norse Mythology it's where Odin and the Valkyries (Floor 😉) lived and where the souls of warriors fallen in battle went. And then at Ragnarök (the end of the world) they all get to fight Jormungandr and Fenrir (Floor's "little" dog is named after this beast of a Wolf 🙃).
Like all of Blind Guardian's other songs, this one is a little cryptic. The basic idea is obvious but because they lyrics don't use many names and they describe nothing except for feelings and atmosphere.
NWSU/FloorFan/Metalhead 🤘😎🤘
"Mirror mirror" or "traveller in time" from BG !! My favorite songs. both live...great..
Some of the sweetest guys in metal! When the plectrum thrown at me (who very clearly is a super fan) missed Frederik (the drummer) came over and handed me a stick himself and tapped André (founding guitarist) and Hansi to come over and shake my hand too :D
Two weeks later I ended up in a different country for my studies and went to another show of theirs...Hansi actually recognized me in the front row and security invited me to come to the back and have a chat with him for a few minutes! To be fair I am female, have short colourful hair and a facial disfigurement so I am easy to pick out of a Blind Guardian crowd lol
They are a fantastic band, no bad albums or performances from them.
Fun fact: There is a toxic sea slug named after the founding guitarist André Olbricht: Clavus andreolbrichi :D
The other slugs that scientist named are for David Gilmoure, Kirk Hamett and Brian May who are much more famous!
What Hans was saying, before the drummer took over:
"Sounds great!
I think, Magnus has worked enough. We can now bring Fredric into the game.
Therefore you should be singing a bit louder."
Greets from the German-Dutch concert photographer
Thank you
Thank you
BG is one of the most influential Power Metal bands of all time and at Wacken, arguably the greatest metal festival in the world, they are GODs! Go down the rabbit hole, I am 100% sure you will regret nothing! PS: Hansi Kürsch, the lead singer is alegend, their drums are sick and André Olbrich, the lead guitarist, is on every Top 100 guitarists of all time list... for a reason I guess! ^^
I was at wacken twice and it is definitely not the greatest metal festival. not even one of the best. It's insanely expensive, too big and the weather always sucks. there are many festivals in germany alone, that are way better than wacken. You should rather visit something like summer breeze or rockharz instead of this commercial bloated festival
Man I am 100% with you, but Marcus, IMO, is one of the most underrated guitarists.
@@HeavyMetalGamingHD It was awesome until 2008 or so. Then it became to big with to many non metalhead festival tourists. I agree, you will have a better time at the smaller festivals. Unless you are there for the big crowd I guess.
Mannnnnn….. I was happy to see you enjoying this… especially when you were head banging…
They are one of the first symphonic/power metal band starting in the 80’s.
What I love the most with this particular video is of course the crowd…. It always always gives me chills…
Keep it metal my friend and enjoy🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, yes and yes to more Blind Guardian!
There's a video of the crowd NOT WILLING to stop singing along, no matter what the band did or said. It went on and on and on and the band was like "C'mon guys" 😂
One of the OG power metal/speed bands....and my favourite!
U remind me so much of my neighbour here in good ol Germany. Hes a Kurd from Qamischli/Syria.
He says, since he is here he is enyoing life so much. Listening to rock music and all that. Working his ass off to affort life for him and his lovely family but has always a smile on his face, when he dicovers ne "Western" things. He is almost obsessed with it but still nowing his roots and is just a pure Familyman.
Great reaction!
Funny thing... about this song - the crowd would not stop signing the song at a concert (I cannot remember the exact concert) so the band ended up continuing for some time with the crowd being the main vocals 🤘🤘🤘
it was the 2003 Coburg open Air concert!
Only just saw them last weekend on a comparatively tiny festival in Belgium, but the crowd also knew the lyrics to most of the songs - and they were tight as ever.
The solo's are pretty much the same every time, which imo adds to the general sense of recognising the songs as a listener: you know where you are in the songs and what's coming next (to sing along).
Blind Guardian are generally regarded as Power Metal, and are hugely influential in that sub-genre - but yes, there is a little folk in there as well 🤘
Around 30 years ago, this band was what brought me to Heavy Metal! And the Bards Song is special... This is "THE" Blind Guardian song! You even can measure concerts by this song! The less Hansi sings himself, the better was the concert!
This video in general is a great way to introduce people to this band... First, their most iconic song, and then a song that is more in their usual style!
We Schleswig-Holsteiner Dorfkinder live on the echoes of the WOA for the rest of the year. So glad BG will be back again next August
This band is unreal. Some of the best guitar work in the bizz.
Hansi Kürsch
The man who looks like a math teacher forms unintentionally a choir of 80tausend metalheads.
That ending is the best way to fully tired the crowd. 😆
If you go down the blind guardian rabbit hole, you find that they will quickly become one of your favorite of all time bands! I listened to them in 2012 and I always always come back! I can't live without them in my playlist anymore!
BG! Love these guys.
Next Song suggestion: Mirror Mirror (again the live version pls)
The 3 guitar solos: They are not random but always the same (except maybe when it comes to differences over the years. the song is old and I dunno if the live performance did get some facelift over the years).
Also note the precision between the drummer and the guitarist. That's some german precision for you xD
Mabruk ya habibi!
Wish you all the best!
Hope you will have the opportunity to travel and enjoy one of those concerts 🙏
beautiful reaction ❤
we enjoyed it together 🤘💪
I hope things will change and live concerts will become common in your country. Wish you all the best, greetings from the Netherlands
YES!!! I‘m so happy you’re reacting to them:D I‘ll be seeing them next month in Stuttgart Germany with my best friend, gonna be her first concert and only my second!
If you wanna see more from them there’s a concert from 2003 called imaginations through the looking glass, probably their best show
When you said 7afzeen el timing I screamed Lebnini and subscribed.
This is my favourite live performance of all time❤
the bard song in wacken two years earlier, was even better, but that was not recorded..... i was in both crowds... though here, valhalla was better...
It is my favorite power metal band of all time and with 1 of which I entered the wonderful world of metal music 18 years ago. A greeting from Spain.
👍 What a performance!!! 🖖 ❤
I was lucky enough to see them back in '03, before they got really big. They played at a venue in my hometown seating about 150-200, and they performed with the same energy as this concert. I'd say about 1/3 of the audience knew the lyrics, but it made it seem like everyone were singing along. The closest to a religious experience I've ever had.
Love these guys well done man
7:49 the insane eyes matching the evil laughing of Hansi is glorious
Yes, of course, you must go down the rabbit hole.
Legends
5:16 - 5:35 man that made me legitimately cry.
This is my favorite band of all time, really happy to see more people react to them.
I'm curious why/how you have an American accent, which my coworker who is also Lebanese also does.
Blind Guardian yes nightwish army in for this Gem Thankyou.
Got to hand it to those Vikings... they know how to rally the troops.
I can’t see a ‘blind guardian reactions’ playlist so guessing you haven’t gone down the rabbit hole yet?
I think you’d enjoy if you did. They have so many gems in their (large) discography

Hi, I'm new to your channel and already subscribed, I loved your Wagakki Band reaction. And now I'm watching or other videos. If it's not too much to ask, I'd like to recommend Shaman - Fairy Tale (Live) react. It is a Brazilian band whose vocalist and conductor unfortunately passed away.
I was really late to the Blind Guardian party. But I really appreciate that it's power metal (that's the genre, btw) about fantasy and sword and sorcery and tolkien and nerdy shit. We're in a world now where it's super trendy to take fantasy situations and put a epic soundtrack behind it, but when these guys came on the scene that was still kinda taboo.
Also yes. You should do the rabbit hole. My personal favourite at the moment is "Wheel of Time". I haven't read the Jordan/Sanderson book series of the same name, but I know that's the inspiration.
The actual album track is slower! The solos are there :)
No I love blind channel
old video but i think his mic is a Shure ADX, not sure WHICH ADX it is though, they look very close but it is hard to tell from the video
Valhalla!
Please react to "kelmti horra" by Emel Methlouthi, Nobel Price concert, thx Salam
~ and organize it halfway decent.
Power Metal with a bit of Folk Metal
i'd send TANKARD to send some sand flying.
If you like, react to Sabaton and their Song "Christmas truce" next.
Please listen to Kardashev - Cellar of ghosts
the old german god is a beautiful tree, not the worsest choice I think. You should listen to the song "journey through the dark" and "somewhere far beyond"
Well he more or less said "sounds great (well he said sexy sorta) seems you worked enough on it, we could use you but for that you have to sing somewhat louder" sorry if i missed something my German is somewhat rusty last 25 years
This is like the national anthem of metal being sung in the capital of metal... And it's not even a metal song 😊

Hey cool reaction to my favourite band! You should definitely get into Blind Guardian rabbit hole. Here if you want some more great songs from them: ua-cam.com/video/4VNu6gPkJQU/v-deo.html - Blind Guardian - Past and Future Secret, for something slower and beautiful. ua-cam.com/video/QYLpSTclFUU/v-deo.html Blind Guardian - Traveler In Time, for something older and faster and fucking amazing ua-cam.com/video/d1mkqz422lg/v-deo.html - BLIND GUARDIAN - Deliver Us From Evil, for something brand new from latest album in 2022 but still incredible, probably my favourite song from the new album.
That's just a little taste of their amazing music.
Enjoy and take care.
And you can not see non of them to recording with phone
