- In today's video I am flying out the P-47M.
This plane used to be a great choice in Air RB, but it can't keep up with the playstyle of today's meta. The P-47 is great at playing slow, however, matches today are very quick and most fights take place at lower altitudes, which takes this plane's only advantages away.
I had a very hard time getting footage in the P-47, which is why I am only uploading a single game in it today.

Dude, you are the inspiration for me ditching the Tanks and finally started grinding the planes. I was always terrified of Aerial combat as it was always too complicated, while with tanks, you just aim the gun, adjust distance and click the left mouse button.
Well, by watching your videos and the way you explain what you are thinking while playing really conviced me that Planes are way more exciting to play as every single mistake, even small can mean the end of the dogfight - while on the other hand, if you use your energy wisely and aim precisely, you are a beast 💪
That's true with the P-47 I had altitude advantage on one and dived in on one he did the right thing as to turn into my attack (I was flying a Spifire Mk XVIIIe and carrying bombs) forcing me to avoid a head on due to heavy armament it carries so knowing that the P-47 is heavier than me so on the first reversal I dropped my bombs so make myself lighter and faster so after 3 1/2 turns I pulled enough lead to get a kill shot.
I wish I had to replay to show you but it was cool to see.
So… you were in a griffin spit… carrying bombs… you had an energy advantage on him… you dived in, dropped your bombs… and it took you four turns to kill him? My question is… why do you want a replay of that? That’s all embarrassing information!
@@FullSweatTryhard I wasn't giving information of how to attack just a encounter I had and looking at the replay I had.
Perhaps you had a better engagements that you would like share if not STFU.

P-47s do just about everything the P-51D does in most regards besides full on linear energy retention but straight better. But even still, the P-47 is not much slower. I've dragged Yak-3s, Bf-109 G-2s and G-6's and even spitfires to around 5000 meters and they seem to go "Oh shit" when they realize their engines are dying out and they bleed speed all in one turn and their wings aren't suited for those high altitudes. Not only that, the P-47's wings are massive so it lets it hang in really damn well especially with those delicious flaps. You should check out the P-47N again as the new update has removed over 1000lbs of empty weight from the aircraft.
The D22 razorback is responsible for one of my all time favorite War Thunder moments. Dragging a bf109 f4 to high altitudes and out energy fighting.
P-47 and P-38 are without doubt my worst planes. It's a shame I can't figure out the 38 though, it's my favorite prop of all time. The main reason I watch this channel is because of your defensive flying, you're particularly good at it. You play defensive until a spot opens up, I'm still working on that. I get tunnel vision too much.

My main priority when in a match is to not overcommit, to pick the right target, and overall just maintain situational awareness so that I play with low risks. (Less deaths = more kills = more wins)
It can take a while to get the hang of, but having patience and developing simple habits like looking around every 15 seconds helps, and will pay off with enough practice.

My gun convergence is 600m with no vertical targeting.
I have flown the 3.7 P-47 (using MEC) with lots of success in this current meta

@@kingghidorah8106 That, and the energy abilities of P-47 when boom and zooming. If you know how to fly it right, you literally do not have to worry about ANYTHING catching up to you and forcing an engagement. All it takes it a couple hundred meters in a shallow dive, then a shallow climb when you have separation, and soon enough you will be above them. It's just so heavy that air resistance doesn't do a damn thing to slow it down. As long as you stay fast your plane is pretty much operating in a different performance envelope than everybody else, like a monoplane vs a biplane.
@@GodHatesFrags9 the p47 also out dogfights the overvalued Sea Fury too, both high and low speed. It's a great plane, I got 2.7 kill death ratio on it when I was unable to score positive on the yak3p.
3.7 isnt the same as 5.0-5.7
@@kingcamilo Yeah, 5.0-5.7 is a ghost town filled with only Ju 288 spam and pilots that are too green to know to avoid it, so yeah, it isn't the same, flying at 3.7-4.3 actually takes skill and therefore has a defined meta, things like 109 F-4, Yak-3, Spitfire IX, etc.

Basically sum up American props, fast but 0 climb rate and turn rate.
American props if used correctly are better than you’d think, especially corsairs and mustangs, but I’m just not the best with them. They take a lot of discipline to fly.
@@MacWithGun sure. But still no better than the powerhouse planes, like the yak, spitfire, vl pyermersky or the j2m2.

The P-51H is really good at climbing
@@Ifuckinghatesarhs yeah, the f8f and p51h, have great climb rate. But they are post war superprops, not your classic American fighters during ww2 .
P-51s'(C,D-30 and H) turnrate is actually bonkers. Great to get rid of 109s or 190 which you can't kill quickly if you try to play the energy all the time.
