O hello, fellow catlover ! Thank you for another lovely episode. You really rock those Locatelli patterns, those garments look so good on you ! I loved the one you were wearing today. And the colourwork cardigan is looking epic, it's so cheerful with all those differen colours ! Good luck with all the steeking plans ! As for modular knitting; I've never tried. But I guess that with some math, your stitchcount shouldn't be a problem. Just knit your own swatch and measure it. And then make it into an equation ( x st : x st equals x st : x st ), then you can choose the size you want to knit and see how many stitches you would need.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂. I am thinking along the same lines as you for the modular knitting. With a swatch, it can help you figure so much out about knitting and patterns in general🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by! I love to watch her podcast, her recently finished Alpine Bloom is beautiful and she is such a sweet person. I appreciate all of your kind comments 🙂
I am looking forward seeing the finished Flax with the Stormy skies colourway and the Stripy Unicorn with those pinks and magentas. They look intriguing and I think you will look wonderful in those colours.
That Flax and Voyage are both just gorgeous! I really need to get back to knitting my husband's Flax -- and cast on my own Voyage sweater! I bet your knitting will bring in a lot of money for your son's trip. Have a good rest of your week!
Thank you so much 🙂. You'd love the Voyage, it is so much fun to knit that I didn't want to put it down. I'm hoping that it will help them raise some money for the trip. I hope that you guys have an amazing week! 🙂
Oh my goodness the color work sweater is so beautiful and bright! Can’t wait to see it finished. Love your son’s flax sweater. Thanks for another great episode. The hat knitting has me wanting e cast on my first odd stripes hat and get another musselburgh on needles but need to finish up some baby knits first!
Thank you! You’ll love the odd stripes, it really is a fun and easy pattern 🙂. I need another Musselburgh cast on too, but I keep distracting myself with everything else 😅
Wow! Your Voyage is looking amazing! 😍 I can't believe you worked it up so quickly! Also that mug cozy is genius. I'm definitely using that before I attempt my first steeking project
The Voyage was so fun to work up! I definitely recommend the mug cozy. You can swap out the color work for anything you'd like. It's a great project and I can't wait to use it to practice steeking 🙂
I just love all your bright color sweaters! I'm half way through the raglan increases on a sweater, methodically adding pencil tick marks to the printed pattern. I'm going to use the light bulb markers for the second half and see how it goes. So old school 'cause I'm old but I like streamlined so worth giving it a go.
I understand, I always used to use pencil marks. My only problem was that I would forget to add one and then get all messed up. Adding a lightbulb marker right where I increase (and when) makes it harder for me to forget 🙂
Mandy you are fearless, knitting such an intricate sweater and never steered before. I never tried steeking because I thought it had to be in regular wool (that would fuse the ends)which is usually too scratchy for me. That vest is more my style. In looking at her other patterns with sleeves, they seem to be plain or has a cable running down-that would’ve an easier that replicating the design.?? I’ve had Stephen West’s Penguono and Elizabeth Zimmerman’s surprise jacket in my queue for awhile just to use a fun design.
Thank you for your kind words 🙂. You don't have to use non-superwash wool, but it does make it a little easier. But I'm going to walk through it and explain what I do with superwash wool, so we'll learn more about it together. I'm planning on doing a couple of different swatch steeks before I think about touching the actual cardigan😅. I love the vest, it's so pretty. I have also wanted to make both the Penguono and the surprise jacket. I've heard many good things about both of them 🙂
Hey there! What a lovely episode! About the QR codes - I find this idea brilliant and have to admit I shamelessly adopted it for my own (German language) knitting podcast 🙃 As for the various patterns - the Aase sweater looks amazing. I checked Rav and there are some more patterns based on the graphic design, very cool indeed! Lots of hugs from Vienna 🖤 Gina (also known as nilasae)
I love that you are using QR codes too, they are such an awesome way to make the patterns easier to find ❤️. I have checked out your podcast various times just to give thumbs up and watch. Unfortunately I do not know German, but I do love and appreciate all of the knitting that you share on social media. I hope you are having an awesome week and sending lots of hugs from the US 🙂
I'm not sure how you juggle all those projects. I'm impressed. Cutting knitting sounds so scary, cutting a swatch, not so much 😂. Visual works for me too, especially when I'm not familiar with the construction in a pattern.
I think your use of QR codes is one of the best applications of that I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t you just hold your yarn double to make the Moana dress? That’s the simplest solution I think.
Thank you, I like to edit the video in a way that I think I'd like to see. So I threw in QR codes because I think it'd make it easier 🙂. I need to take a look and see with the Moana dress. I only have around 1,100 yards of yarn and it's a gradient. That's why I was trying to convert it to fingering. There is a good chance I might just double it up and make it a shorter dress, it's pretty long and since my daughter is shorter, I can save on yarn that way 🙂
❤i made sailor moon with slightly heavier bamboo fingering, it's not that hard to tweak. It fits well and looks beautiful, totally recommend it! i always worry about kids sweater necks, and make them looser, they don't like them too close, but in a fight fabric gets pulled so they need some stability😂
Sailormoon is such a pretty pattern, I am glad that you recommend it 🙂. I am thinking it's better to make too loose than too tight. I worry about the necks too, especially in the case of babies. My kiddos have always had bigger heads, so I'd worry that it wouldn't fit them if they didn't have enough room 😅
Modular knitting is so much fun! I highly recommend it!
I also love those animal granny squares. I am also a cat lover!
Modular knitting is definitely on my list of things to try. The animal squares are adorable! 🙂
Lots of amazing knitting and patterns to tempt everyone Mandy! What a great idea to make those cup cosies to practice on. I’m sure you’ll crack it! Xx
Thank you! That’s the hope with the cozies 🙂

I like cables too, the Delacorte Vest is striking! Hope you're having a great week.
Thank you so much, I hope you have a great week too!
I’m so pleased that your internet friend #myknittinglife mentioned your podcast on hers! You have such a gentle soothing show! Thank you!

Thank you! I really love the stormy skies gradient. I can't wait to see it all worked up 🙂
Another great episode! I hope that you are having a great knitty week!
Thank you! I hope that you are having an awesome week too! 🙂
Mandy your projects are inspiring me to cast on! I love the Stripy Unicorn and shall cast it on soon but in a lime green and white. Thanks for sharing
Oh, lime green and white sounds amazing! That would make an amazing color palette for Stripy Unicorn! 🙂
That Flax and Voyage are both just gorgeous! I really need to get back to knitting my husband's Flax -- and cast on my own Voyage sweater! I bet your knitting will bring in a lot of money for your son's trip. Have a good rest of your week!

The I See Spring Sweater looks so gorgeous on you! I have immediately noted this pattern in my queue!
Thank you so much! I See Spring was a great knit and the yarn colors always make me smile 🙂

Lovely podcast.
Thank you so much! 🙂
Your QR code is brilliant!!! Thank you, i just found your podcast and enjoy it very much.
Welcome, thank you for stopping by! I love the QR codes because it makes it easier to make sure everyone can find the pattern 🙂
@@mandyvaughnknits I hope some day you will tell us how you do it!

Oh no! You’ve aided in enlarging my Ravelry Queue 😂. Big cat person here…15 in my house and a house bunny!
I would have all the cats if space would allow 😂 A house bunny sounds adorable! 🥰

There will definitely be lots of swatching (and cutting swatches) in my future before I tackle the actual cardigan 😂
Lovely inspiring channel 😺🌅
Thank you! 🙂

Just found your channel love your sweater your wearing very pretty ❤
Welcome, I am happy you're here. Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙂
Just pinging you to let you know that you should definitely watch the first prize drawing of my latest podcast.. 🙂 Don’t want you to miss out! ❤️
I’m surprised that I clicked on this video because just the word steeking gives me anxiety. But I’m so glad that I did.
Steeking makes me nervous as well. I think the key will be to practice a whole bunch on coffee cozies 🙂
I like the classic ribbed hat by Purl soho for a dk hat, it's a free pattern on their website and you can use different colors
Thank you so much, I will check that one out!
I really love the steeked sweater. I really want to do one now. I’ve downloaded the coffee cup holder that is steeked to practice. Wish me luck.😂🤞🧶
Good luck! I hope that it goes well for you 🙂
