Really? I'm shocked regarding The Gambia b/v growing up in Senegal we have this same concept where I lived in Dakar & it's called Set Settal if I recall correctly. I left in the late late 90s so not sure if things have changed. The Gambia is a country inside Senegal & we share similar cultural values so it's truly disheartening to read that they don't have this concept which I grew up w/in the 80s & 90s

Yeah! We have what we call Mutual Healthcare where every family pays 3 us dollars per year for each member. This allows the country to buy all the needed medicine beforehand, and when a person is sick, he is treated for free. When it's a strong disease that costs a lot, a citizen pays only 15% of the total bill. The families which are too poor to afford these 3 dollars per member are given Mutual Healthcare card for free by the government, and a cow so that one day they will be able to pay for this card themselves.

Our history is complicated, and we have done some Rwandans [who should be judged individually] had done some inhuman things in past hence the reports. However, we have been helping refugees from Eritrea and both Sudans for years where we help them settle in our country while they apply for asylum legally in Europe. It seems you're have only taken the negative side from the reports when there was also a positive side that UK based on to initiate the deal. Those people weren't coming here to be imprisoned. They were coming here to start a new life. I hope your country is perfect in every aspect.

These people are not slaves and they are getting paid for their work, as well having room and board. Rwanda to draining resources from Congo which they invaded in order to steal their resources and thanks to those stolen minerals , they were able to build their country . They are number one in coltan trading selling tons of it yearly while this coltan is only find in Congo . So go figure smh
