@@BobLee-df4zh Awe man I bought those shows before all the rest, all time favorite. I die laughing at many of the episodes to this day. My favorite episode I didn’t mention was the grocery shopping spree episode loved it as a kid still love it!
My favorite TGIF show is Perfect Strangers and my favorite ‘90s show is probably Batman Beyond. Good content man and please keep it coming. Would you ever consider doing a video about Kids’ WB! and The WB? So many good shows and I feel shows like Superman: The Animated Series, Buffy and other shows from that network and those lineups are amazing. Ty again man. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I miss lineups like TGIF so I’m definitely happy to see someone giving them love. Keep the great stuff coming please!
That’s the only reason I made the video I truly hope more people do this! Yeah you do Perfect Strangers is so good, those two with the vaudeville influence can’t remember the last time a show had that level of physical humor. Also the Grocery store shopping spree episode is still one of the best. 8 seasons in total you’ve got some catching up to do.
I loved TGIF and have very fond memories, of the school week being over, and mom would go to the grocery store Friday nights so we would pick out which cereal we were going to have Saturday morning for cartoon. Then watching TGIF as a family! Perfect Strangers was also a favorite of mine. And I loved the ski lodge episode! but also the one where they repaired Jennifer's bathroom! Another favorite was Family Matters anytime Urkle invented something, like his robot, those were always fun. Also I think you are on to something by pacing out the watching episodes now!
Yeah just thinking back it seemed more fun back then something to look forward too. I love that Bathroom episode as well, but also the grocery store shopping spree episode has me dying every time. I agree Family Matters was best when Steve invented something.
I've been buying these shows little by little i can live out my Friday nights when I was a kid So far, I have all the Full House seasons My goal is to own all of them by early next year Awesome video!!
That’s awesome, so glad more people are grabbing these shows. I certain Step by step is still on sale, but I’m hoping some of them show up for Black Friday sales. Thank you! What was your favorite one growing up?
@80sMadeConsumer TBH, i liked most of them but my favorites were Family Matters, Step by Step and early in it's series, Full House In the 1990s, Boy Meets World was my go to
I've never thought about doing that, but this is a good idea. Binge watching has become the norm in the streaming age, I honestly can't do it, I usually have like 3-5 shows I'm watching at any given time on a streaming service. But now I've learned that DVDs and physical media is much better so I've cut back on streaming and use that budget to buy physical media (DVD, Blu-ray and VHS).
Owning your media is the way to go glad you’re leaning in that direction. Sure I see the instant gratification of streaming, but all the things that are lost because of it ended taking all the joy of taking a movie off the shelf and reading the back trying out something new. Try planning a day and time around your show, it’s easier on one you’ve seen before.
Great idea totally deserves a sub from me! I will be fully doing this from now on! Loved all those TGIF shows have to start buying those. I watch Seinfeld all the time, but bringing it back to Thursday nights.
This is an absolutely fantastic idea! I love the creativity and I loved all the reasons you mentioned and I agree with them! MeTVToons give a similar experience now with tunes, but it’s mostly Warner Brothers so it doesn’t have quite everything but it’s still pretty cool.
@ I watched a lot of things growing up so it’s hard to pick a favorite but I guess the original TMNT cartoon and the Flintstones I’m actually re-watching the Flintstones on blu-ray rightnow.
That's honestly a great idea! For any show. My era of TGIF was all of the '90s basically, but the run I remember the most was the late '90s when it was Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Teen Angel, and You Wish, and then Boy Meets World, Sabrina, and Two of a Kind (the second Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen series). I'd sit down with my mom and my two siblings, who are a couple of years younger than I am, and we'd watch all of those shows together on Friday nights.
That’s awesome I missed Two of a Kind, Teen Angel, and you Wish. At that time I had an after school job Fridays I was always out of the house then. Recently I picked up Two of a kind on VHS and have been watching a few episodes with my youngest, had no clue it was a TGIF show. Still need to track down a Sabrina that was a fun one too.
@@80sMadeConsumer Two of a Kind, Teen Angel, and You Wish only lasted for one season each, so they weren't on for very long, but with Two of a Kind having the Olsen Twins in it, we watched it for as long as it was on for. Earlier this year I got the complete series DVD set for Sabrina the Teenage Witch and it's fun revisiting it. Also, to add to the sentiment of others, I appreciate you mentioning Perfect Strangers as that's one I don't remember from the early years of TGIF.
Hi i do the same thing as you. Its like your creating your own tv station. At the moment Monday to Friday in the evening i watch Happy Days then Saved By The Bell then i watch Alf
I did something similar when I first got Disney+ made my own one Saturday morning line up by finding a website that had a listing of the line up in order by time slot each show was on and watching what was available to watch in order
Routine is the magic word here. Everything is so easily accessible now, that we have no routine. I can't stand waiting a week for an episode anymore, and I hate that about myself. Instant gratification steaks a party of our soul, for sure.
It really is what has been missing. Everyone thought life would be easier not planning life around tv, but we found it the opposite and we found we weren’t only bingeing shows, but spending way more time with tv than ever before. Now implementing the tv schedule we went back to the other things like after dinner board games until 8pm that’s when the shows start haha.
That's a good idea and that's so cool and lucky. That you get to do your own TGIF with your family and Saturday morning cartoons. Also your kids like it as well and will watch it with you. It's hard for me to get my kid to like stuff that I like. I did my own TGIF last week but I used Hulu. They're not all on there but good enough if you don't want to buy a lot of DVDs.
Thanks I figured we loved it so much it was worth sharing. Don’t feel bad that is my only kid that does she loves movies and tv shows mostly what I like, none of her siblings ever cared.
Stopping the video at 3:30 to comment that taking away Balki so that you can give your daughter Urkel is a BOLD move... let's see how it works out for him!
Haha I didn’t take one away for the other, it was switching to watch one episode each at a set time on Fridays. She thinks Steve is great, but nothing like Balki.
Love that idea! Perfect Strangers reminds me of the other show Bosom Buddies with Tom Hanks. I would like to find that series. The TV show I am enjoying at the moment is According to Jim. I only have 3 seasons. Looking for the others...
Thanks, let me know if you try it! Bosom Buddies is one I never saw, fully aware of it not even sure it had a home video release. According to Jim is a great one and I need it too!
@@80sMadeConsumerit did get a dvd release but they had to change the theme since the original theme was cover of billy Joel’s my life and they probably couldn’t get the ok to release it with the original theme cause I got at least the first season of the 2 seasons it was on cause i like the lead actors
Most of the well known miller-boyett shows from the early years of TGIF are on max only one not on max is perfect strangers cause it never has been added to max but now plex has it since freeve lost the streaming rights to it and being born in 1984 I remember TGIF pretty well cause I remember full house being on it before it got moved to it 8;00 pm Tuesday time slot and I would love the growing pains spin off just the ten of us to be streamable it did ok when it was on cause it managed to get 3 seasons
I’m glad some of those shows have found new life on streaming. My internet has never been any good so we stick with home video. Just the ten of us boggles the mind, you’re right it had several seasons and I remember catching reruns on cable way after it was canceled. I’ve seen 1 season shows on streaming, there has to be a rights issues or something.
Thank you for mentioning Perfect Strangers. People always leave that show out when talking about TGIF. It's still the best show from the lineup.
