I'd say there's not enough people doing their best these days. This is a feel good phrase for people who don't want to put the work in.

I’d say, for example, like Albert Einstein creating the nuclear bomb (literally can’t think of anything else). He did his best, but it didn’t exactly help humanity... if you get what i mean

THE8 got that one line and left&right chorus. I'm happy about that. Jun only got left&right chorus. It's sad to see that Jun always gets the least lines and if he has more seconds of lines it's only because he sings some yeah yeah, boom boom, wow wow, etc parts. Only his screentime is a little bit better here. Normally his part always gets rushed. That boy really deserves better.
I also agree with you with Wonwoo. I was sooooooo happy about his lines. He always got the least lines too. His voice deserves more time to shine.
It sucks that Jun gets less lines because his voice is so unique. I’m glad that he at least gets more lines and shows his range in their B sides

literally i was WAITING FOR THISSSS
I notcied that in the scene after Seungcheol's car exploded and started diving down, the sign that was pointing up, behind Jun, looked like it became broken and swung until the arrow was pointing down, kinda like the direction the car was going as well. Idk, I thought it was interesting and really pointed out that yeah, you can be going up and then suddenly sink down when you least expect it, and Seungcheol getting out and dancing showed that you can get back up, brush it off, and dance/have fun.
I absolutely agree with you, this kind of sound we didn't see in a while from Seventeen, just a playful song, and I love it so much. Like I like their lastest releases as well and I respect their choices to make different and more serious music but I just missed this so much.
left & right is such a positive and bright song. just like they said, it really is an anthem for the youth. they did so great, i am so immensely proud of them. the whole entire album is a warm hug to the heart

It took me way too long in life for me to learn the message that this song provides.
Seventeen does cheerful, fun concepts their own way and I was missing that. Oh My was nice but not Mansae or Aju Nice nice. Maybe because they did it for quite some time and with what's going on this year, this is just so refreshing and not just your typical summer bop, they could've released this any time of the year.
I really loved Seungkwan's part too! (Not just because he's my bias.) Thanks for, as always, putting my feelings into words and helping us understand the MV better :)
To me the song is saying that you dont always have to strive to be the best, you dont always have to look for opportunities to get ahead, sometimes having fun and not caring is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Always enjoy your content and break down. You took the words out of my mouth as you were analyzing it. I really enjoyed FEAR because they touched on dark emotions/thoughts. It was artistic, poetic, deep, and powerful; and it had a very strong message I felt anyone can relate to when they are struggling with their own fears. FEAR will always have a special place in my heart, but this has got to be my favorite comeback. It’s youthful, yet mature. It’s light/fresh, but has lots of depth to it. It’s their way of saying “no matter where your journey takes you, everything will be okay.” The whole album itself embodies positivity, encouragement, and even empowerment. The wait for this comeback was definitely worth it.
i totally agree with the idea... it's really a beautiful message that cheers people up in these days and the crushed car tells that maybe sometimes we try and fail but just keep going... it's ok not to do our best sometimes but have our lives a bit

I really loved their message and also that they came up with henggarae concept. Left and right is not only fresh song but has deep meaning, I really liked the way svt showed it through their song, music video. Also, the album is a total bop. It really suits my taste, and I read that many people came to like it as well, also the way their title track was pleasant from the 1st listen. I usually need time and many times trying to listen to some songs to get used to it, and see if I truly like it, but left and right was an instant bop for real.
the crashed car at the end also reminded me of the crashed/burned out car in the background of the Fear MV, which I like the idea of - how it went from being something scary to something that's no big deal
They really tried to comfort us, make us feel supported and cheer us up with the whole album, like even though if life gets hard sometimes don't let that stop you, enjoy life as it is with its ups and downs, don't need to rush don't need to stress, things will get better some day and personally I really needed this, that's why I love it so much. I can't wait for your listening party
I applaud Woozi (plus Bumzu and Vernon) for such a well-rounded song. I like that it is unapologetically K-pop (which I always push for) and yet has such straightforward and inspiring meaning. The hook is there of course with the repetitive title and the very memorable dance steps. A good round of promotions for Seventeen!
PS plus the song distribution for the 13 members is great!

even though the mv was super fun and whacky, it was surprisingly meaningful as well! the message at the end, "do your best but maybe not sometimes", really felt like they were telling us to not burn ourselves out. seungkwan running and the billboard "the early bird catches the worm" but at the end he just looks exhausted and annoyed, like there was no 'worm', nothing at the end, even though he ran so hard.
and of course seungcheol crashing at the end, i'm pretty sure it's alluding to his hiatus last year. i think it's really meaningful how it was the other 12 literally watching him crash and get back up, learning that it's okay to fail sometimes. love love love this comeback, i'll have very fond memories of it ♡♡

I didn’t know Wonwoo had less lines before. But he caught my attention in the stage several times because he had more lines. Omg it must be really difficult to have many members! But beneficial too because the stage looks great, their variety show has, well, variety and many personalities. Carats, I just discovered Seventeen. I really like My My so I thought I’d check L&R out. I enjoyed Wonwoo’s performance with the hockey uniform and then the sleeveless tongue thing and I kinda sooo annoyed he had to wear that crop top. 😑 Sneaky boy got me swerving.

Yasss we’re getting so much content I’m so happy !!! But if I had to give my honest opinion I was kinda underwhelmed by the title track where as their previous comeback(fear) as Soon as I heard it I literally got chills. Anyway on this album fearless is definitely one of my favorite tracks

i dont stan seventeen but i enjoy them sooo much. this comeback was an instant love for me, i fell in love with the music video (THANK YOU SO MUCH DIGIPEDI YOUVE DONE IT AGAIN), the song is so upbeat and fun and i just really fucking love it. those boys are so talented.

definitely agree that this Left & Right really brings us to the early era of Seventeen!! I have been missing this kind of style for a while. Before this comeback, I feel like their comebacks were using the same type of sound, which is normal because maybe they wanted to define their new color. Adore U, Mansae, Aju Nice, Boom Boom are another style. I love both styles don't get me wrong, but this early style really what made me fall in love with Seventeen, to begin with. So I was really scared when the teasers released, I did not want to keep my expectations that high, BUT THEY REALLY PROVE ME WRONG AND THIS IS WAAAY ABOVE MY EXPECTATIONS. I AM JUST EXTREMELY HAPPY.

I think this song is kind of a statement from seventeen since now pledis is under bh, so there might be a lot of things happening in the background that we would never know. As they confused on which way to go, seventeen is trying to say that they're going their own way (which is up), like hey whatever, they're still the seventeen that we all carats love!
