Love your lectures bro Nouman Ali Khan, jazakallahu khair. Interesting point on "naz`", I never thought it to be slow pulling, rather a sudden stripping away but I just realized it can mean both thanks to your lecture. I also see the ayah being a threat to those in power. Power can be stripped away almost overnight, like was seen in the case of Qaddafi. In what amounted to days he went from his palaces to being beaten to death on the streets after being found in a sewer. I don't make shamatah, though he was a cruel tyrant who murdered and tortured thousands of Muslims, but it just demonstrates the ayah clear as day. I mean I do hate people like Qaddafi and wish evil upon them, but when I see it happen I also feel some pity and dread. Dread because that could be anyone in the end, myself included, save for the fadl of Allah if He wishes we make it out of this world clean.
Quran 3:26 Say: "O Allah! Lord of Power (And Rule), Thou givest power to whom Thou pleasest, and Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest: Thou enduest with honour whom Thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low whom Thou pleasest: In Thy hand is all good. Verily, over all things Thou hast power. Quran 3:27 Thou causest the night to gain on the day, and thou causest the day to gain on the night; Thou bringest the Living out of the dead, and Thou bringest the dead out of the Living; and Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou pleasest, without measure."
Sometimes, I do wonder how much inclined we are to Ustaad Nouman bhai & Mufti Menk, both disappears at a same time, we feel directionless & bizarre. Such were the impact of them. Guys, My father shall be going for Heart surgery within this month, I wish all of you shall pray for him. His name is Yusuf, Masha allah, I may have seen his name possess the characteristic of our Prophet Yusuf with due regard to trials & tribulations, I always prayed the way our Prophet Yusuf became a prominent person during the later age. I wish my father had the same. Please do pray. *P.S. Being an obedient child is the only thing that he is proud of me, he never seen me as a successful student, wish Almighty make him saw his children as successful persons*

I've been thinking about this ayah since the US elections. A lot happened since that day, election results across Europe (religious parties, nationalist/racist parties victories), violation of several BM decisions (embassy opening in Jerusalem, withdrawing from nuclear treaty), military coup attempt in Turkey, sword dance and "light globe" partnership, 100 billion trade with US in Saudi Arabia and embargo to Qatar from their Arab brothers and some other events... Each time such horrible things happened i remembered and believed "biyedikel khayr inneke ala kulli shey'in qadiir" ... Then i fill with hope believing zalim's domain will end eventually. May Allah grant muslims all over the world wisdom to understand Allah's deen. And follow the clues from the Holy Quran and overcome traps of enemies of Islam.
