Wow~!!I have lived in Hongkong for 11years .during I living there, I enjoyed dim sums, wontons, and chicken feets ,dumplings so often. Hongkongers usually call them "Yam cha." It costs very expensive to enjoy "Yam cha"in beautiful restaurant. Your video reminds me of the days I was there. I also like Sichuanese spicy sauce! I recommend you to try to eat Sichuanese noodle "Tam zai"! 👍👍👍
@@RockstarEater I agree with Greg, price s/b disclosed after the meal as a baseline in deciding weather to go there or no. Obviously prices fluctuate but the more info the better.
Rock Star Eater u should try Augie’s Burgers in the city of San Gabriel Ca it's really good especially the Pollo Loco Chicken plate also the Ranch & 1000 island dressing is good too 👍
I ate at Tim Ho Wan a few times in various countries, every time feels too sweet for me. Still pretty good and the mouthfeel for these baos is the best in LA. But I wish it would be a bit less sweet especially their chashu bao.
One of my favourites is the rice noodle with shrimp and chives but fired not steamed. It is getting difficult to find. It appears most have discontinued the fry cart.
so, lately, im cutting carbs for medical reasons but love asian food of all kinds… i could google it but want to ask you first, what is the low or lowest carb dishes that you had that i can order?
I stumbled upon the Tim Ho Wan in Lower Eastside Manhattan years ago - 2018? 2017? It was really great! I live near Irvine and have been to this one 2-3 times? It is not bad, could be much better - but the Manhattan location blew my socks off. Maybe I was just hungry? Nah. Will I keep going? Now and then. This is the former site of Capitol Seafood.
i grilled chicken livers and chicken hearts on my gas grill with a little wood smoker box and posted that on my page tonight, but i will not eat the feet, lol.
I love dim sis,, I haven’t been to a dim sum restaurant in a long time. That egg cake looks interesting, but I think I wouldn’t be able to eat the chicken feet cause they scare me lol
I don't get people who dislike chicken feet but they like the drumstick of the chicken. Hello? They are part of the leg including the chicken feet. Believe me that eating chicken feet made your face younger and pretty. Look it up.
Some Michelin stars are given due to how clean the bathroom is, the food Is above average, there are better dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong that weren’t listed in the guide, ask a local where to go
I liked this up on Yelp and it abysmal ratings, maybe it’s because they’re comparing it to Panda Express. I’m SHOCKED you eat at Panda. I can’t STAND Panda, so nasty. Lost a modicum of respect for you, not very rock star. But still love your videos! (But stop eating at Panda Express)
I would be surprised if this particular Tim Ho Wan's matches up well, with its flagship dim sum place in Hong Kong, that got the Michelin star. I mean. This looks like a dim sum place for white people or Asian Americans, who 'like' dim sum, but feel they want to 'shower' after the experience. I gotta say. Looks pretty weak. You can do the whole - we CAter to more 'high end' clients thingy, without losing what makes dim sum special. Every little plate looks like 'fusion' cooking. East meets West. And realistically, east meets west has never been done well by ANYone. Not that dim sum cannot be made to appeal to richer people. I've seen photos of dim sum at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. It's what people want. My parents spent a few days there. Anyway. Chinese Americans LOVE to talk about how awful Chinese restaurants were in America, a few decades ago. Back then, though, it didn't make any pretense about being 'fake' Chinese. This franchise is a total scam.
Because of this video, I drove 40 mile from LA county to OC, but very very disappointed. I ordered deep fried spring roll, chicken feet, baked bbq pork bun, steamed egg cake and shrimp dumplings and steamed pork spare rib with black bean. 1.deep fired spring rolls are too oil, , 2 chicken feets are not only not in traditional way, but also a wrong way to make this dish, bbq pork bun, shrimp dumplings and pork spare rib also bad. the on;y dish I would say OK is the egg cake. Even the House TEA, In Hong Kong, it is not for dim sum place,it is for cafe restaurant.it is a cheap tea, and people use it for clean their chopstick and bowls before they dine
Ugh…this place is absolutely not good, so really not sure what this dude is talking about. Also did a quick check on google and yelp, pretty sure most people don’t think this is a great place for dim sum as well. Guess I’m not sure about this guy’s food review anymore.
Lovely delicious Chinese food...my favorite all time ..💕💕👍👍💛❤️

Turnip cake is my favorite. The food looks good.
Sometimes people have a food budget, so it would be nice to talk about the prices of the items.
You can always look on the website if you are serious about eating there. Prices change rapidly due to inflation.

Thanks Steve!

I will consider it

Everything looked DELICIOUS except the Chicken Feet, those you can have them all!
Safe Journey!
CHOLULA!!!

This location did not earn a Michelin star. Only the Hong Kong location did.
Never said that the Irvine location got a Michelin star. This was referring to the branding going back to HK.
@@RockstarEater Gotcha! Enjoyed the video.
I like your reviews and I do eat there on occasion but there’s better dim sum just up the road in Tustin at JZhou - trust me on this one Seoul Bro!
I will look into it
By the way... yay!
I am a recent sub and I must say, you guys really have great personalities and an outstanding presence on video!
Thanks
Anyone knows of a Dim Sum restaurant in Harrisburg , Pa?

The steamed egg cake official name is 馬拉糕 or Malay Sponge Cake

I’ve been to this place . Not a fan not good for being a dim sum specialist.
lol he's comparing it to Panda Express. Definitely an ABC!
we we're just here with my in laws but i was not able to film because i don't want to get hurt, they do not like cameras, ate a lot of sticky rice 😅

This place is mediocre at best. Been to other Tim Ho Wan in other countries that were far better.

No need to add soy sauce for dim sum!

This place got some bad reviews. Sounds like there are better Dim Sum places in San Gabriel Valley

I just don’t understand how u could be Asian in appearance & yet know nothing of Chinese food or customs! Shane in ur family.
I disagree, there are better Dim Sum in Little Saigon. Definitely not the best.
