  • A poem I wrote on September 13th, 2023.
    ---
Here I lie, in the bath of still water.
Calm as I study the waves I have yet to see.
We feel the waves before we taste them.
I am in no rush for a meal.
I have been fed many forbidden fruits.
The tree of life grows many.
The roots travel as far as they can.
Yet here I lie, in the bath of still water.
Uprooted from the earth my trunk lies in two.
In two feet in two choices.
With two eyes I look into the distance.
Patiently waiting for the waves to manifest.
Making harmony of the forces of nature before me.
A surfer, rides deep into ancestral lands.
You will always find the water.
    Need only time.
    Have, only time.
Music curated, accounts for the time lost.
The time given, and for some, the time taken.
For the waves are not for us to uproot.
The waves are the other half.
    That which makes us grow.
On the true borders do we meet.
Only then can we truly connect.
The balance of today and tomorrow lies in the ebbs and flows.
Yet here I lie, in the bath of still water.
