seems like a problem that your boss has to deal with, not you. you're only staying home as long as you feel too bad to work, any more than that is up to your boss, if he wants to risk you infecting other workers. and it's also his responsibility to get replacement for you. just inform him about what's up and go from there, everything else literally isnt your problem anymore.

Felt it taking its course Tuesday after work. Wednesday I was straight garbage and same for this morning. Now since noon I’ve felt great in comparison and feel good enough to go. I work at a factory with a lot of people tho and really dont want to spread it. I have the days but at the same time I feel bad for calling in. Suffer or suffer..
i got the flu after going to the mall symptoms started later that night when my friend was over and she ended up leaving. next few days was a living hell i was always dizzy, coughing, and throwing up. as of today it will be my 9th day with the flu and nothing is really helping with my throwing up issue. every time i eat or take my medicine i end up throwing it up. the doctor thought i was allergic to the medicine so they gave me pills instead which worked out the first 4 days of having it, but now every time i have it i end up throwing it back up. i am being taken to the doctor’s again today to see what the problem is, honestly just think it’s because of the flu but i will update later once i get back from the appointment.
Hi Maddie! Great video! Can you do one where you explain the difference between influenza and the stomach "flu"? I am so tired of explaining every year that influenza is respiratory and not gastrointestinal.
Netti pot seems to work for me. Started using about a year ago ONLY when I feel a tingle coming on / virus in nose. Yes you can tell. Fatigue. Itchy nose. Sneezing. Boom! Catch it wash it out.
Great video! However it assumes that people have the opportunity to stay home from work. It would be great to add that if you do have to go to work, it helps a lot if the sick person wears a mask. Mask-wearing by the sick person is much more effective in preventing the spread of germs than healthy people wearing one.
@@ChrisWEEZ Wow, thanks for noticing! Back then, it was common in Japan for sick people to mask up when in public. Now we have normalized it so people can have more choices. I like choices.
My cousin just came over with the flu yesturday, she said her fever broke 4 days ago but she is still very symptomatic coughing and nose now im scared to get sick
I'm on day 3 of the flu and my fever finally went down, and I'm debating on trying to go to work tomorrow or taking one more day to rest.. my body no longer hurts as bad but I still feel lightheaded with sore throat and cough. I feel incredibly guilty for taking 2 days off 😭😭 if I work the rest of the week I'll get my hours in I was supposed to get. If I take off one more day someone else can have my hours. But I feel like companies guilt trip you for trying to get better 😔
I never think I have had the flu and just the other week I was with two persons all day that had the flu and still nothing. Is there any factors that might help me not get infected or just don't notice it? I have read being healthy help but that is definently not the case
Hey Oli2.01, Maddie here! It's possible that your immune system is stellar, and that you simply fight off the virus before a full blown infection takes place. It's probably more likely that you are one of the many asymptomatic carriers, which means you have the flu, but don't have symptoms! Here's some more info: www.upmc-cbn.org/report_archive/2005/cbnreport_103105.html
I didn't get the flu until I was 30, and I got it again this year, at age 37. You could have one of those genetic markers that makes you less susceptible to the flu, or you could have just been lucky up to this point. You'll know when you have the flu. There's no mistaking it. Suddenly, out of nowhere, your body aches all over and in random patterns, you skull feels like it's being literally crushed in by a hammer from all sides, you get a fever that goes up and down in a wonky like manner, your fever becomes extremely high (normal high, but high), and you feel completely weak. It's nothing like a cold. Not even the worst cold compares to what the flu is.
HA ha "Get out of my house!" I'm on Day 7 and I'm going into that post-flu muscle weakness. It SUCKS. I did take a day this last weekend to enjoy the old Irish cure though. Had to break into the bourbon.
Really enjoyed the video but sad the captions end early. I guess the closing is something you reuse? If so, please reuse those captions as well. Thanks! :)
Ahhhh…so basically from the day you feel good and do not have a fever…stay home for 7 days! 😂😂😂…I’ll give it 24hrs of no fever ( that’s no fever without the aid of medication ) before rejoining the world. And then one should be courteous and cover your damn mouth when you cough. Frankly anytime I get a respiratory illness including the common cold my cough last for weeks
Hi Pam H! Maddie here. The timeline is pretty similar for the common cold. As for which one you have... normally, adults don't get a fever with a cold but do with the flu. Also, the cold takes a while to ramp up, so you feel kind of crummy in the beginning and then steadily worse. The flu hits hard right away. Hope that helps!
Husband had flu. Confined to bedroom and master bath. Away from the other household members. (I have a 2 yr old and a 15 yr old) He will be coming out of quarantine on day 8 (day 9 if you count the first day he felt sick) do I need to go crazy and clean every inch of the house? This is the info I cannot find anywhere. What do we need to do once he comes back to reality to continue to protect the rest of us? Please let me know! Thank u!

Been watching a bunch of flu vids because I currently have it. I must say this is among the most informative and fun to watch out there.
I've been coughing up mucus for 3 weeks, sorry but there is no way I could take that many sick days without being fired.
