It is so obvious that the WBMP is true and explains many problems of classical music today. I find it very stupid and saddening that still so many professional musicians deny the existance of WBMP. But I am glad that Wim Winters and others explain it to the world. For me personally it was an eye-opener.

On December 22. 1808, Beethoven gave his famous academy-concert with the premiere of the 5th and 6th symphony, the 4th piano concert, the Choral Fantasy among some other pieces. We know from newspaper articles that the concert started at 6.30 PM and we have a review (describing that the Choral Fantasy was even interrupted by Beethoven because of mistakes and started over). We know it was stone cold and the composer Reichardt (if I'm not mistaken) mentions the end in a letter: 10.30 PM. And we know that there was an intermission. Knowing all this actually proves the double-beat-theory doesn't make any sense for Beethoven's music. The concert would have last until 2.00am... Of course there's more musical proof. Plenty of music comes from "dances" and we have good descriptions of how they were danced, so that's tempo indication enough. At half speed, it wouldn't be a dance anymore. And there's of course all the songs and music that is derived from folk music (for example Despina's music in Così fan tutte); it wouldn't be singable anymore... Next to that: at this slow speeds, all the articulations composers indicated, especially for string instruments, would not be possible anymore. I guess this comment will be deleted soon (as you are known to delete 'dissident' voices), but at least I tried to be a bit more scientific than other people that just don't want their music to be performed slower. Trends in performance speed have always existed...

Slightly off-topic from this video. I think Wim definitely has to do an interview with Maximmiano Cobra who is also a proponent of whole beat metronome reading and has also done various recordings with orchestras as a conductor, using the WBMP metronome reading.

The difference between music and noise... I need to watch the full version of the interview to hear Alberto's answer to that 😂

I wish I'd taken such a course when I was in my teens if not earlier. Keep on the great work, it has enriched my musical life enormously.

Still going with their bogus. Amazing! I suppose it’s easier for Wim and the other one to just stick with this double beat thing

as it is easy for those not "believing" of never demonstrating single beat :-)
