    4:55 - The most amazing tests for this watch model were probably the acceleration test to 7.25 G x 5 minutes and then to 16 G for 30 sec, and the shock resistance test of six 40 G shocks in 6 directions. These watches were built probably stronger than most tanks.

    Loved this video! I have a vintage 1976 Speedmaster Pro "moonwatch" as well as a few modern ones (one standard as used by NASA for EVA, one with sapphire display caseback, and finally a Limited Edition with panda dial).

    anyone ever seen one of those "radio dial" ones before? I believe thats the real treasure never been available to the public

    • @billmedic1995
      @billmedic1995 2 місяці тому

      It’s “radial” dial, as in radius. It refers to the way the numerals are configured around the subdials. Super rare variant.

    I wonder how you keep from cracking the crystal as it protrudes so much from the case?

      I wonder how the "plastic Hasilite" crystal didn't melt at 250 degrees.

    “The Jiminy days...” I was thinking Jiminy Cricket - he meant Gemini

      The German engineers called it "Gem en eeee" not "Gem en eye".. It's just the way we grew up hearing it called.
