ABOUT RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN
After long and highly distinguished careers with other collaborators, Richard Rodgers (Composer, 1902-1979) and Oscar Hammerstein II (Librettist/Lyricist, 1895-1960) joined forces in 1943 to create the most successful partnership in American musical theater. Prior to joining forces, Rodgers collaborated with lyricist Lorenz Hart on musical comedies that epitomized wit and sophistication (Pal Joey, On Your Toes, Babes In Arms and more), while Hammerstein brought new life to operetta and created the classic Show Boat with Jerome Kern. Oklahoma!, the first Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, introduced an integrated form that became known as “the musical play.” Their shows that followed included Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. Collectively, the Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals have earned Tony, Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, Pulitzer, and Olivier Awards. The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization is a Concord Company, www.concord.com.

I grew up with the Brandy version of this movie, and had no idea Julie was the original live-action Cinderella. GODDESS!
Love this one the best!!!!
I grew up on the Leslie Ann Warren version but I love this I wish I’d know this one existed.
I never even knew about this version. Julie has a so much better voices than Leslie Ann Warren. I’ve always know. Julie A. as a singer and an actress while Leslie Ann W. seems like an actress to me. I wish I could see this whole thing. I love Julie A.’s voice.
witney and brandy really did this justice. the whole cast did
Did anyone else notice how this scene subtly critiques the passivity observed in the original folktale? I just love it!
It looks like I spoke too soon. An article on TVTropes already delves into the concept...
I grew up on the Whitney Houston and Brandy Version! Love this version though! The voices of these ladies are incredible.... such power!
I really love Julie Andrews and must see if I can purchase this production on DVD.
If you go to “The Julie Andrews Archive” UA-cam channel, you can watch the full production.

@@teresaclemmer3613 , thank you ; it’s a wonderful production and I’m keen to get the DVD.
‘In My Own Little Corner’ and ‘Ten Minutes Ago’ are my favourite scenes.I have the CD
and the sound quality is superb so that’s worth adding to your collection too.😀

Edie Adams was better than Celeste Holm, but I prefer the 1965 version in all other ways
