    I appreciate the effort you went through. Let's be clear, I have watched close to 30+ reviews nobody complained about these connections.

    Picking up a packet of these tomorrow for my DK8.

    A good tip Lyle! FYI the actual Switchcraft parts, P10149X (toothed washer) and P10001 (3/8-32 panel nut) are about $0.20 each at Mouser! They're made of nickel plated copper bronze, very conductive and corrosion resistant.

    Holy F, a customer literally just inquired about one of these and I couldn't find a gut shot anywhere.
    Lyle to the rescue once again!

    Dude I just wrapped up one and was shocked Supro couldn't be bothered to add these themselves.

    I have an old Mac 3/8 drive toothless spinner handle and a 1/4 inch drive ratchet adapter so I use & have used socket wrenches on jacks too. They work out the best for me.

      Klein made some big nut drivers that are pretty nice too. 9/16 and 5/8 inch are open stock additions to their SAE set. A little pricey but worth it.

    Lyle is one of the best techs in the nation. I just wonder why not have an inventory of parts?
    Resistors, capacitors, pots, jacks, tubes, etc. Why order parts as needed? Shipping charges are out of control these days.

      Thanks Michael. I do have a large inventory, but it's nowhere near as large as it was pre-Covid. Availability has steeply declined and prices have multiplied. The behind the scenes supply issues are kind of frightening right now.

    Thanks for the vid! It's on my list whenever I get a chance to pull the chassis next. Can you recommend any other convenient upgrades for this amp?

    Thanks for this. Can you tell me how the speaker in this combo is connected to the amp? Is it attached via a 1/4 jack? I want to use the Delta King 12 as an occasional speaker cab for my Katana mk2 head. Grateful for any info you can give.

    I own one of these sounds good cranked a little. Does it have the life expectancy of a tracfone?

  • @christianboddum8783
    @christianboddum8783 2 роки тому +2

    That would be 10mm. washers in metric, I buy a bunch from time to time ;-) The actually are about a half mm. oversized for CTS pots but no biggie ;-)

      10mm or 3/8". I like using deep sockets for some reason. It gets my knuckles up & away from the panel without using those wobbly extensions.

    You appear to be a strong fellow I think the leverage provided by that ratchet would strip threads. Perhaps a nut driver would be a better choice?

    • @PsionicAudio
      @PsionicAudio  2 роки тому +4

      Won't strip a Switchcraft open frame jack. But a nut driver is fine too.

    • @retread1083
      @retread1083 2 роки тому +1

      Good call, Rich. A seasoned veteran like Lyle has no doubt developed a feel for the torque appropriate for various parts including brass bushings and flimsier jacks.
      For those less experienced, a nutdriver is more self-limiting. Or palm the ratchet at the pivot point.

      Yes. So does the quality of the leather your guitar strap is made out of. Oh and your hair color/style

    On the input jack, what was that wire doing bridging the ground sleeve to another lug? Is it necessary?
    Edit: I figured it out, it's a shunt jack. Cool.
