Because Delia did something that they should've done for this intro, cut the 16 bar Bassline Intro in half so that the start of the melody lines up with the appearance of the lead actor's name, which is nearly the exact reason she cut it in half back 1970, so that the start of the theme's melody would line up with Jon Pertwee's face appearing.
The 70s gene is a couple bars shorter (there’s fewer “dum da dums”) in the begging. I’m 99% sure the current sequence was created using the 2018 theme, which also had the shortened opening riff, hence why they sync so well.
Honestly they should have just used this theme, it suits the whole sequence itself!
Random thing I noticed but this is the first Doctor Who intro with jumpcuts
All previous ones are all one shot
they aren’t jumpcuts, they’re just cuts, but yeah
@@aleksandarmarkovic221a couple of the cuts could arguably be jump cuts. But I love the sequence either way very nice effects
Unlike the 1974 intro with the 2023 theme where you did a lot of editing to make it fit, this theme just slots into place.
so what next?
Leaping Lucy
Proper Shunters
or Thomas, Twins & Trickery
How does this somehow fit better than the actual intro?
1) it syncs
2) It has the same logo as 1973

Fits the intro better than the official one
