Music Video for the acoustic version of "Ocean Avenue" Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue Acoustic, out NOW on Hopeless Records!
ON JULY 22, 2003 OUR LIVES WERE CHANGED FOREVER. WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT OCEAN AVENUE WOULD BECOME, BUT IT IS A CHAPTER IN OUR STORY THAT WE WILL NEVER FORGET. WE KNEW THAT FOR THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELEASE WE WANTED TO DO SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A TOUR. IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG YEAR FOR ALL OF US AND YOU TOGETHER. OCEAN AVENUE IS A LEGACY THAT WE ARE VERY PROUD OF, SO BOTH THE ALBUM AND THE TOUR ARE THINGS WE'VE PUT A LOT OF WORK INTO. THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED LOVE AND SUPPORT, AND WE WILL SEE YOU THIS FALL!

I was a Sophomore in highschool on September 11, 2001. This song gave words to us that were speechless. I'm now a Firefighter Paramedic and I often run to this song, remembering the 343 that perished that day. But mostly I thank you for creating a song that will always remind me of the feeling all of us had on September 12, 2001. The day we were all the same; the day we only loved one another
I was freshman, that feelin of what happen still effects me, this song helped me deal with that also. I almost went in to the military, but like you, also decided a different path. Keep up the good work brother.
It was the acoustic version of this song that made me realize the extent of the lyrics and how deep they went. Such an great tribute video they made for this. RIP to all those that lost their lives on that day. They will forever be hero's.
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher, through the fire
Time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Be strong, believe
(Be strong, believe)
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know
Just to bring them down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Be strong, believe
Want to hold my wife when I get home
Want to tell my kids they'll never know
How much I love to see them smile
Want to make a change right here, right now
Want to live a life like you somehow
To make your sacrifice worth while
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Everything is going to be alright
Be strong, believe
Thanks Sarah :)
Everything is gonna be alright (correct)
This song has been a pick me up song for sure. I always come back to it and Yellowcard when I need it
I still remember the day when I first heard this song. The night after that I cried so hard when I found out the origin of the song.
:') A moment of silence for those who perished that day.
what is the origin of believe? i wasnt able to find anything online
It's a tribute to the heroes of 9/11.
Some firefighters fought hard to enter the already tumbling rubble to save lives, and some of those firefighters never made out alive. Losing their lives to save others.
Sean Mackin, the violinist of Yellowcard, was said to have been in the rubble and was saved by a firefighter who never returned alive after he went back in. Sean said that when the firefighter was fighting his way to get him out, he kept repeating the words to Sean, 'Everything is gonna be alright. Be strong, believe'
And that supposedly became an important part of this song......
T___T *cries*
David Watkeys
This explains the parts,
'Wanna hold my wife when I get home,
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know,
How much I love to see them smile'
Some of the firefighters who died that day..., had warm families waiting for them ... at home...
Oh wow i didnt realize

I'm... I'm not crying it's just some... onions or... like... something in the air. I must be allergic.
The thought of seeing them with thousands of people and them all singing along... "everything is gonna be alright, be strong, believe" gives me goose bumps.
this song saved my life! it helped me get through a really bad time in my life, so for that I'm forever grateful for them for writing this song. it's a constant reminder that i just have to hang on, that everything will be ok
never ever forget those we lost that day!!! love you yellowcard for this amazing tribute to our brothers and sisters we lost that day!!! long live yellowcard in our hearts as they broke up yesterday 😢😢😢😢 and never forget 9/11
Underlying vocal at the end are so subtle!
it's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
"...we take into our hearts the lives of those who perished on this site one year ago..." miss that... love this song
favorite song of all time right here
had to listen to this at least once today. it's been on repeat for the past hour
love it! idk why but i'd love for yellowcard to make a christmas cd
yes they did...they did it originally back in 2003 when this album first came out as a tribute for the 2nd anniversary...still strong and meaningful to this day
Think about the love inside the strength of heart.
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark.
Think about the chance I never had to say, "Thank you for giving up your life that day."
I just read about Welles Crowther on wikipedia, and he made me think of this song. He was a 24-year-old banker who rescued like 18 people before the tower collapsed on him and rescue workers. In about a month he'd have been 40.
I'm crying so hard right now.
Have you read the book about him
back to music, i think im kinda a bit bummed that they left out the quotes. but it is still my faveorite acoustic song ever!
I am not going to sleep until I listen to all of these. Yellowcard is the absolute greatest
My favourite band, alongside 30 seconds to mars and AVA.
30 seconds to mars are AWESOME ♥
You got that right!
does AVA stand for Angels and Airwaves?
Yes sir.
I don't know them but I'm gonna listen now! sounds good (I'm a girl, by the way)
This band and album was a huge part of my childhood. I'm just listening to the acoustic versions for the first time and holy shit...
Be strong believe! 🇺🇸
*Never forget!*
Crazy to think it's been 18 years since the attacks happened on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, Rest in peace everyone who perished in the initial attacks and rescue.
What a great inspiration this song is!! Gotta reach deep when these get tough. It's in you, you just haven't found it yet:)
Incredible song, incredible acoustic version of this powerful song. God bless! #NeverForget
Think about the love inside the strength of heart

You're correct.
This song and Miles Apart are what pretty much helped me through my parents' divorce...
Something like my anthem
4 people don't give a thought for good music and respect.
be strong. believe.
I never knew this song had an acoustic version....
When I figured out what this song was about I got chills thinking about it
what's it about?
Its about 09/11/01
Do they do tours?
creo que esta versión tiene mas sentimiento que la version rock. Pero el mensaje igual de hermoso
Makes sense. I know that Words, Hands, Hearts is about 9/11
BELIEVE!!!!
to the three people who have disliked this: i will stalk your every move. be afraid. be VERRY AFRAID. I WILL LOCK YOU ALONE IN A ROOM. LOL! :)
I know I live by the lyrics :3
This song is too perfect for today 9/11
Wiener Stadthalle wir kommen!! :D
Didn't they make this song for 9-11?
Based on your picture, I'm in love with you!
I agree that the acoustic album is way too produced, hearing it live in concert is way better
"be strong, believe" :(
2:40....just...l
Best fucking song!
thats what it was written for...
How is it not obvious that this song is about 9/11.
For all the frontliners,
Thank you for taking care of the patients with Covid-19, You may risk your lives But always remember Be strong and believe that everything is gonna be alright. Please Stay safe and we are always here to pray for your Safeway, to fight this Covid-19. Just always Pray at Night. AND BELIEVE IN JESUS NAME.
DAT fucking intro.

Seriously, who are the idiots that disliked this?? I'll probably hear it for this but omg ..
Is it just me or are these acoustic songs wayyyyyyyy too produced. Ryan's voice sounds way too robotic. Love yellowcard but this is a step back :/
