The DVJs allowed me to transition from using VHS and Laserdisc to DVDs and never looking back. The DVJ-X1s set me back $3500/EACH back in 2004 though.. that was painful
wow I was just about to write a message on your Facebook page recommending that you guys make a documentary about the history of pioneer mixers. we really do need more documentaries about famous DJs and the history of the music
I love that 3/4 time parameter as well! I sometimes do the math to get my roll/sliproll there on the djm-850!! Hell, and if I am feeling extra saucy, I even half the rolls to 3/8.... Fun fun!!
Great to hear James Zabiela mention Phil K! He still has the world's best DJs travelling to Store DJ here in Melbourne, just to see what he can do for them! He's an electronic gear guru! :)
Jezzy is so right, Im actually starting to feel like they stalking me especially my mappers.Id be like "you know, it would be nice if",,,BANG SSX2 comes out or any other smart thing they ever did :-D Youll are second to none :-)
i still have the EFX 500 in a flightcase…….till today…hardly use…glad i got it n didnt sell it..i sold all my CDJ500s, 1000, DJM 500 and a pair of CDJ100
I still use my old Bozak, a old uri even there so old I got the Denon pro with the interface so, I could plug it in any mixer ,The Denon pro Serato comes with anything yoy need I use my Technics 12 mk2 and 4 pioneers Cdj 1000 the silver look I bought 2 new ones when they first came out 2 black and 2 silver the only thing the new Denon Serato pro has 2 channels only so I use the other two cdjs with CDs a plug-in memory cards it works and 4-channel mixer so I use 2 cdjs With the Serato and my Pioneers with a inerface I have Turntables 1200 mk2 am not buying any more Turntables I have a extra new Staton Turntable with everything I need to DJ So I still use amps the old way for each amp I have 2 speakers hook up I use 3 amps 1 Crown XLS 802, a SLA 1 Studio Linear Amp ,a TGA 900 Amplifier m 900 mk2, and a Crest Professional Series Fidelity sound power amplifier model p 2500
if pioneer came out with a rotary mixer i would buy it. i already have cdj's and the efx 500 which i think is still the best efx they came out with. i would like to share this with you guys ive played on othere cd players beside pioneers and there is no comparison the cdj's are way better. plus they are work horses they dont fall apart on you after years and years of uses. but i would love for them to come out with a rotary like the old bozak or the urie even the rane. i blend mix and i just like the smoothness from these type of mixers.
I see other people shitting on Pioneer because of the price & then start promoting Denon / N I / Numark. Any other DJ brands do not have the same build quality & durability that Pioneer has. Yea pioneer is expensive but you it'll last you for decades
2 copies of the same track, 1 beat behind each other and constantly crossfade between the master track and slave track 2. So you only hear one and you bang back and forth with the crossfader.
Presenting the second of our 20th anniversary videos - In this episode we take a look at the evolution of our Mixers and FX, their influence on DJ's performances, and how DJ's have influenced their development across the last 20 years. Featuring: Carl Cox , Roger Sanchez , *****, Jazzy Jef, James Zabiela, Laidback Luke, Scratch Perverts, DJ Shadow and Sander Kleinenberg. Find Part one here: ua-cam.com/video/CgTdAdynUYo/v-deo.html
I'm a Pioneer DJ geek! I LOVE my CDJ 2000 Nexus', DJM 750 and my RMX 500! Can you please give me a DJM 900 Nexus mixer? My DJ set up would be complete :)
Pioneer DJ Don't worry. i wasn't having a go at the guy, sorry and for anyone else reading this. No i did not say anything offensive that may have been deleted by Pioneer
Yeah, and then they released 250, 450 and 900 mixers with really POOR sound quality from Phono inputs (ddj1000 aswell). Interesting, why Armin Van Buuren started to use Allen and Heath mixer? :D
2024 and Pioneer is still great but unfortunately the modern products are not made for the average player. Many of us have been priced out, and the new stuff is mostly made to make sure they remain "club standard." Companies like Denon now make the same quality products but with more features and more affordable.
I just don't dig them because they are the Flagstaff in every club or dj event. And to me that level of saturation means you're going to sound like everyone else. I miss the days of everyone using different mixers or even separate effects units. Now everyone sounds like a pioneer dj and what makes it even worse is it's way too expensive to be a beginner level dj. The mixer alone is close to 3k. Just ridiculous.
Decoy303 when was that? Been a pro dj since 97.. only saw pioneers at any clubs, raves, or events.. maybe the occasional vestax if there was a scratch dj headliner.. or a rotary rane if you go way back..
That's because they aren't meant for general consumers, they're primarily for big clubs and very well known professional DJs... or filthy rich people who are willing to pay $15.000 just to use them every now and then!
That comment is still true a year later. I think it was a direct and deserved dig at NI. I use Traktor Pro and feel frustrated that they can't seem to focus on DJing as it's actually done. TP still works for me, but I won't stay with it in the long run unless they change their attitude.
Jack O'flynn because men were the ones who created the art of DJ-ing. Men were the first to sit down in a dark corner, away from society & experimented with underground electronica. Women & others just followed behind
Pioneer: uses Luke as an interviewee
Luke: Uses Denon

My DJM-600 was made in 2002 and is still going strong!
0:52 the narration really goes well with the red light fest on the mixer

You can buy rotary conversion kits from pioneer
i know that but what iam saying they need to come out with one like the urie or the rane style and ill buy it just becuase of pioneers rep.
I see other people shitting on Pioneer because of the price & then start promoting Denon / N I / Numark. Any other DJ brands do not have the same build quality & durability that Pioneer has. Yea pioneer is expensive but you it'll last you for decades
how the hell do you do a delay by hand? Call me an amateur but I still don't understand how to use the delay on my mixer?

I remember when the djm 500 came out ..... if you had that you were a bad mother.
I've had a blue one before
It does feel like they are no longer pioneers and just willing to follow. Latest kit is disappointing and not pushing the envolope

Pioneer has no respect to us. Look at the prices. Pioneer products are overpriced by miles
We don't measure cost in miles...
We use dollars.

Last words of Paul explain why NI sucks. They do not listen to DJ's but try to dictate their own ideas.
