As a person born after 80s, I feel like comparing this era of Eurovision to the scene of music at the time really made me let down. Things I love in 80s music are rarely present in 80s Eurovision, with one notable exception. And that's why "Shangri-La" is my favourite of this year.
@@gwentheperfectqueen8355 Tons of bad things? Ok I personally don't think the UK should've won, but calling "Go" a bad song is foolish, it's a great song, with great lyrics, a great singer, and a great harmony

It’s lovely to see Spain so high. I’m also surprised to the UK as high as it is as the impression I’ve got is that much of the fan base *hate* it! I don’t think the Swiss song is strong enough and I feel it is only as high as it is given the identity of the singer (though absolute respect to that 1 person who gave 0 to Switzerland).

Tommy Körberg (Sweden), is a much better singer than this, he was sick this night and could not give his all. Also in Sweden Stad i ljus (City in lights) is one of only a few ESC song that has really become a much loved classic. It usually plays in some bars at the end of the evening and EVERONE always does a very loud and drunk sing-a-long.
Nice to know. I really like the song, and I find this to be among the rare occasions that Sweden's score was actually quite underrated at ESC. Usually, Sweden finds its way in top 10, and if not, it's usually for a reason. This time, I am wondering why this song wasn't in top 10.
Thank you guys for 200 subscribers! And so soon after 100 aswell! Just over a month before we get to Eurovision 2021 and I can't wait!

Yeah, was expecting a Swiss win. Though I was kinda hoping for the UK to be first, I love "Go" a lot, haha
Just wondering, why do you like it? I can only find tons of bad things in that song and nothing good.

Why does my winners almost never get any 12 points?
Is you're favorite ESF 1988 song in my voting/ranking (scroll above)?
surprised to see that sweden has no 12 points but iceland has 12 points
also quite disappointed at that fact
Can you quit with your "I'm disappointed/surprised that [country] has no 12p while [country] has 12p." comments?
@@gwentheperfectqueen8355 this comment was literally made in march 💀
Me before watching: Please Yugoslavia win
Yugoslavia underrated :(
Yugoslavia's 1988 Eurovision song sucks.
UK unbearably overrated but at least Switzerland won just like in original.
