HEY BROTHA! Your content has taught me a lot! Found a lot of love and growth through your videos such as this one!! Only thing troubling me, is the beat is coming thru very loudly after bouncing song from GarageBand to either Landr Or Emastered, slightly blaring, seemingly no matter how i adjust the volume, any advice or tips would be wonderful!! I have to turn everything to full volume. And yes you’re right it sounds distorted but when I post it on SoundCloud it lowers my volume a lot so when I lost it the mix sounds perfect. Idk it’s just me but when I post something mixed fine on GarageBand to SoundCloud the volume lowers so much
Soundcloud doesn’t lower the volume of anything. That’s your unmastered export. Garageband exports are never as loud as the project files are. You need to master the track. Keep everything turned down. Do not turn it up full volume. That will completely wreck and distort your entire song. It will not be masterable. At all.
Export low. then master. The sound will be much better. If you have everything up full blast the audio loses it’s dynamic range and you can’t recover anything in the mastering process. So it just sounds like a hot mess.
Can I mix and master vocals on my phone on garage band or not? I feel like I could make decent music but because I do the vocals through my earphones sometimes it vibrates a lot of you get what I mean
@@IAMLXGEND I think he means it's clipping Move the mic further away from your mouth and report back If u don't have a laptop I guess garageband iOS is fine for practice but anything u make on there isn't worthy of release unless you re record it
Is it possible to have like one take that you like and just use that or should u have multiple takes on the same song? For example, I prefer to just keep taking takes as close to how I want my song to sound and then I EQ the vocals with different plug-ins. Would my method of recording not work for the mastering process?
If you like the take, you like the take. There wouldn’t be a reason to record it again. Unless you just want to compare the 2 and see if you can do it even better. It’s all personal preference. Your method works it just requires a lot more work you’ll have to do in post. And a lot more disc space since you’re storing a bunch of takes of the same part.
I’d say still look into other tutorials because there may be something other people teach on the technical side that I don’t! You can never have too much info but honestly I’m super SUPER grateful you came to me first. That’s huge.
Love your channel! Quick question. When I download my song on Landr with the free mp3 master option it sounds good on every speaker /headphones expect my phone speakers when I unplug my headphones. Is it because it’s a mp3 and not a wav or is it my GarageBand mix?
Great tutorial people sleep on Garage Band but it is still effective if you know how to use it. Also why do you use Seagate and Thunderbolt. Aren’t they pretty similar?
People only sleep on it because they think if t ain’t pro-tools or Logic then it’s not legit but you really can make great music ANYWHERE on ANYTHING. It just takes skill! I’ve recorded literally all of my albums in GarageBand. Also do you mean Seagate and Lacie? Because Thunderbolt is a connection type, not a company. I use Seagate hard drives because they’re really cheap for a LOT of storage. I use the Lacie thunderbolt hard drive because it’s fast. Seagate I use for storing all my Vlog videos and my sounds for music. Lacie thunderbolt hard drive I use to store videos for editing since it’s faster. So nah they aren’t the same. Thunderbolt is faster than USB 3.0
i took some tips and released my ep “HELTER SKELTER” (by jack madden) on spotify etc. it shows that it’s so possible to produce on an iphone with apple earphones mic. that’s all i used.
It’s not a plug-in... I’m talking about the volume. Turn up the ranges you’re not strong in. So If you have a deep voice, the vocal parts where you’re recording high notes, turn that up. I just recently got the audiotechinca mic to record on my iPhone but it’s extremely sensitive even with a pop filter how do I reduce the back ground noise? Or what app can get me a quality sound on my phone ?
There is no app that will give you quality sound. It’s about the microphone you’re using and what you’re using it with. Trying to get noiseless audio from a usb/lightning mic on a phone is like trying to take the white off of rice. It’s not going to happen. You need a professional recording setup to do that. You’re always going to have background noise on a phone recording setup. A noise gate will help for dead space between vocals. But while your vocals are playing the noise will still be there.
Great video again!! Question? What if I didn't save my instrumental. I just went ahead and recorded vocals on the one file. Does this matter and why did you save the beat alone? This is for a original song that im creating.
Huh? Idk what you mean. If you didn’t save ur instrumental then ur instrumental is lost lol. Recording your vocals in one Garageband session is what you’re supposed to do. But if your instrumental is deleted you won’t be able to make changes later on. I didn’t save the beat alone. If you’re talking about the fact I made the beat first and then the song this is because I use 2 different programs to make music. One is for the beat. One is for vocals.
