Zimin plays very well but Sugawa still could play more deeply and taught him to notice these tiny differences. That's what we should do while playing music.
Notice how zimin tilts his head a slightly downward when he plays(like a bent straw), that tiny difference can cause a tremendous difference with intonation, which is probably why his upper register was slightly sharp.
I think we have all fallen into the trap the student is in when we are trying to be expressive and start notes softly and narrowly and try to expand them to make it expressive
@@bobmatt5175 There's no point in music, so all approaches are valid, including yours. But to be honest your comment is probably a symptom of anxiety, and not prophetic wisdom.
@@kwamethver2.033 Lmao yeah ok there's no point in music and all approaches are valid, but how many people would want to listen to Sugawa vs you play? What a silly comment.
Geez. This is classical saxophone to a whole new level.. the skill.. wow..
Saxologic from almost a decade ago omg!!

須川さんかっこいぃ。そしてこの背高いひと紳士だ
Thank you for teaching Doctor Appleton!
lol Zimin is like, "what? someone's actually critiquing me? well, this is a first."
Why does Zimin look so tall doe😂
Zimin not best
Suguwas tone is darker and softer. Like it. But Nikitas tongue is amazing as always
Its genin's Carnival of Venice. Its originally for flute but Marcel Mule transcribed it.
likearc did he transcribe somewhere where I can buy it?
@@henryjenkins4836 mule transposed the piano accompaniment, they are just playing off of the flute part.

てか、受講してるのニキータじゃん!すごいツーショットだ!
Nikita is like sergei Nakariakov, good technically, but still lacking in that something. Sugawa is like Wynton Marsalis, just perfect in all respects.
No importa cuanto creas que sabes siempre puedes mejorar un poco mas.
I love the eye roll at 0:23.

Omg, what is this interpreter doing??
Why not play it like you feel it? There’s no point in this master class
alon shusterman it cant be at the expense of sound and other things. You need to play expressively and with a good sound
