- Its always fun to try new things, so I was excited to find that in my area there was a store that I had shopped online with, but had never been too. It was large! Must have spent over an hour just taking it all in, but trying not to break the bank. Plus the wonderful Lebenzon Brushes, and what a great company they are to order from. Hands down the best point on a brush anywhere.
Thank You For Watching!

Fun haul! Definitely contact Jerry's Artarama customer service and maybe they'll mail you replacement tube. Daniel Smith too expensive to live with a tube like that. Happened to me once with a tube of Rembrandt Gold Ochre, no matter how much i mixed or squeezed, same binder mess that you got ha. (I replaced it and new tube was ok) LIke you said, probably was sitting there for a long time. I am sure they'll replace it! Also I tried drawing with the watercolor sticks when i first got them and experienced the lines and realized they were designed to be a "pan in the hand" vs a pastel. When I simply used like a watercolor it ws ok. (I know some folks like the lines but i wasn't looking for that effect)
I’m sure I will get ithat paint tube exchanged. The Daniel Smith sticks are a fun play, and I probably will end up using mostly like watercolor with a brush. Thank you Derwood.
I love Jerry's!! I got my watercolors from there, priced very reasonably for Windsor and Newton tube colors. I paid like...$28 USD at the time. I need to go back!
Love the store! So fun to try out things in person. Thank you.
I heard from one of Clark Fine Art videos that the DS watercolour sticks were designed to be used like you would a dried pan rather than like a Neocolor II..
I mean it's art, so there's no real right or wrong way to use them 😆 But if the lines showing through the paint is bothersome for anyone it's just how DS designed them. My guess would be for the purpose of a more portable paint option? Rather than a metal tin or something
Yes, they work best either way a brush, I do like the options of play. Thank you.
Love the Jerry's in Tempe!!
It’s a nice store, so large. Thank you.
I’ve been curious about the watercolor sticks, and those grayscale pastels are super cool! Thanks for swatching them out! Great haul!!!
Thank you, I’m loving both, and have a list of wanting more DS sticks. Thank you.
Lucky having an art store that big near you❣️❣️. I went to one in Austin to one & it was so amazing to see. I just shook up a tube that was like that & it mixed❗️
Yes it’s so nice to have close by. I shook and mixed, it’s I think a ooops tube. They will exchange it. Thank you Lynn.
Hi, nice haul. I hope you will have a lot of joy with your products.
I wanted to say, that binder separation happens often in tubes, some pigments tend to have this more than others. Whenever this happens just dont put more product out if the tube and use something thin and long so that you can put it in the tube (be careful to don't put a hole in the tube/ i use a pottery needle for this) and then just mix the binder and pigment with your needle (or whatever you're using). The color will be as good as new.
Some colors will get that separation whenever they're resting for a while. Means you can exchange the tube, get a "good" one and when you didn't ise it for a while you will have the same problem again. But then you can't exchange it maybe because you bought it months ago, that's why I hope that explanation will help you in the future with situations like that. Because if you remix it in the tube it isn't really a problem.
I hope you have a wonderful day, greetings from Germany 💜😊
Nobody has explained it so well. Thank you.
@@RaspberryColors you're welcome 😊💜
Nice haul! Sorry about that one tube. I've never seen so much binder come out of one tube like that before. I'd definitely look into exchanging it!
Yes, I will investigate an exchange, I have never seen that much binder either, especially in a Daniel Smith tube. Thank you.
Hate binder separation! Sometimes you can shake the tube and message it. Works for me to get it more combined.
Me too, I did the shake, stir and all, I think this was an ooops from Daniel Smith. Thank you.
What a bummer! Hopefully, you can get a new tube or get money back. It’s always so painful to watch a full tube of paint just spill out binder. Hope it all works out for you. What a fun haul.
@@sierracarscadden6049 yep, I’m sure they will do an exchange. Thank you.
Fantastic! No Jerry's in the uk so it's interesting what you can get. Is it pricey compared to jacksons?
The American brands are a lot more affordable. But Jackson’s is better price on most Europe brands. Huge store though, such a selection for connivence. Thank you Helen.
