As a Corona Centennial alumni still proud of them. I’m class of 98 and back then we were like division 3, now Corona Centennial is a top national powerhouse, they came out of nowhere for those who don’t know. Mater Dei has always been a powerhouse longer before centennial.
I don’t think you realize that it doesn’t matter what your high school classifies as, public or private. I can assure you, these public’s are recruiting just as much, if not more than what you see at private schools
I played mater dei in the playoffs twice in high school( 03-07). Their team probably had maybe 2-3 black players.0 Samoans. This new mater dei teams looks like a Long Beach poly team in the 90's and early 2000's. and you add coach Laura lol. same with bosco. played them every year. They were an avg football team. Look how time has changed!
does MD have two different teams? a lousy team that plays the first half then another team that plays the second half ? every game close at half then blowout

@parataisocoful is correct, although transfer qb John Walsh should also be mentioned. I grew up in West Carson. Those schools had the market cornered on Samoans since 1970. It was a simple formula. Size and speed. Samoans and Black athletes. The Samoans either left and/or stopped coming years ago and it hasn't been the same since.

Henry shouldve stayed in Ohio ...he had the wrong idea about what is happening in California..you have to grow up here and play youth ball here to be able to hang with us on the field...he didnt impress m eon tape in Ohio...he has no fast twitch muscles and zero technique...he was just tall and those Ohio DBs had no technique or brains...Cali kids are on a different level

Cen10’s Defense played good. Their offense especially their QB sold that one. I had it a close game with MD edging it out but I was definitely wrong.

Two of Banning greastest RB are from Watts and LA. Freeman McNeil and Stanley wilson.
