China is the first region to have all their teams eliminated from Tokyo. This would've been the coldest take before the tournament, but it happened in the most unpredictable way.
Massive respect to EDG, they beat some world-class teams.
*By the way, EDG has not qualified for Champions at this point. In order for EDG to qualify for Champions, they must finish in the top 3 in the "Valorant Champions 2023 China Qualifier" starting July 1st.

Alecks said that after training around CGRS and Benkai they realized there’s some role issues and their synergy just isn’t as good as it is with Benkai so CGRS is taking the slot. They aren’t rotating anymore as it would be better to just do it with CGRS for Tokyo.

Very insane to think that the team that stopped EDG was PRX. Fracture's comeback from 11-4 was fantastic. I don't know what happened to EDG, but they lost their confidence and mentality there and forgot how to play a little bit.
And this also proves how strong the PRX is. With sub player Cgrs, loss of star players(Something) and role changes, they show why still one of the best teams in the world. Cgrs may look below average, but with three kill retakes, has the potential to become a seriously great player over time.
Still, can't blame EDG. They beat Navi, Loud and made a great run. They didn't master Tokyo winner, but EDG definitely won our hearts. Zmijkk really is the people's champion, really stole the show every game he played. They are quite young and still have room to grow, so I am looking forward to their future success and growth.

I dont think that EDG were playing tbh. They just got outaimed. Only 2 or 3 could keep up from edg side. EDG were playing it very well but prx looked insane. They had some insane clutches and they were not running away from kang kang (The thing that generally other teams do... just run away from the assasin) but they were actually stomping him to stop him. PRX against fnatic looked so lost tho. They were playing everything in the worst way possible atleast on lotus. The plants were bad, the retake positions were absolutely disgusting, and they were also getting unlucky as hell. (I also think that Derke was getting so much lucky too)

They are young and have plenty of room to grow, so there is still plenty of room for improvement and flexibility. They have plenty of potential, at least compared to last year's Reykjavik ZETA. * ZETA has hardly improved since that run and has been sluggish.
Im worried for edg cuz teams in china play like ranked teams, they **will** go back to their ranked mindset and playstyle when they face enough of these chinese teams, at the end of the day, china is the country that takes competitive esports least seriously

@@Ryuisdragon they're good at league but they are very aggressive and mechanical players (kind of like an aim demon playstyle ranked players use). Korea is the more tactical and smart play region for league, and NA and EU are just so far behind in that game we barely see any competition from them.

@@taklaman1981 They have a lot of talent in their large pool and that's why you can see very mechanical people rise to the top, since a mechanical playstyle will shred people worse than you easily. At the top level of competition, where all mechanics are at a certain threshold, then other things matter more. For example, FNC is a very smart team and that's why they win a lot of games. They might not all have the talent at op that KangKang has, but they are very smart players and have good enough aim. China is a region very focused on good aim and such, so while they are pretty good at esports in general, they aren't as competitive in valorant.

EDG was triving on chaos and PRX is the chaos themself. Its like a pokemon battle where both pokemons are of same type. A match of PRX vs EDG , LOUD vs FNC is incomparable to EDG vs LOUD , PRX vs FNC.
Something is really really wrong with prx's luck fs. Something cant get his visa, jingg's showstopper got glitched, cgrs's flash didnt flash chichoo (was it chichoo?!?) leading them to lose the round, hitting shots that should kill fnatic but them not getting registered. Its like prx vs everything bro its like everything wants them to lose but they are holding on as much as they can.

I noticed that on attack, every time paper rex players were spotted and util was being thrown, all edg players would rotate instantly. I would like to see paper rex run some more fakes because I can imagine NRG countering their aggressive executes

Bro the worst thing with prx is that they just start to throw and play like ranked when they get confident. They played it very seriously in map 1 2nd half and we didnt see any throws as such but they just trolled the second map. They looked really bad against fnatic tho. The execs were bad, plants were bad, retake positions were bad, and the greated of all.....There luck was so bad against fnatic.
Kang Kang has been such a good player this masters hope he returns stronger with his team in champions.

edg's old habit of playing bad when they had a massive lead got to them again, that round on fracture where KK was pushing towers alone while the rest of edg was still at site entrance and there's so many times where KK would push alone into multiple people and dies,(these things were only happening after 11-4) these things are things that can easily be prevented yet it still happened, finally there was when edg took a timeout after winning 3 rounds and lost the next round(because KK was feeling confident and peeked in 4v3 against eco), I am sad that its these small, easily prevented mistakes caused them to lost fracture
one more example of edg’s mistake, so nobody was playing close to KK to support him and to trade him, but he didn’t dog for info and to distract the 2 prx player to help KK stay hidden in rat spot, and he didnt swing out to trade after KK died
edg played well, prx was on another level today. prx threw 3-4rounds in split or it would have been 2-0, prx werent respecting kang kang awp this is why they won.

Bro the boring NRG match, then we got the asian banger. IDK NRG is such a great team but they just make everything very boring. They even managed to make it boring even when TL was there.
