This is video n.1d in the new series of Arch Linux installations. This video is for UEFI systems, and I am going to install Arch Linux with LUKS Encryption. In the next base install video, I am going to combine LUKS and LVM.

Another way to insert the UUID in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in the terminal (timestamp 20:00) is to use vim (not in insert mode) and write "read ! blkid /dev/vda2".

Thank you so much! Finally with the help of your video I got it working. I had to manually add the UEFI Entry in my BIOS (Dell Laptop) to be able to boot into it. Selected filesystem, browsed to EFI file, typed name "Arch Linux" and click on add and moved it to the top.

    > At 16:38, you're adding "keyboard," even though it already is in the list (second from the end), why?
    > You're running grub-mkconfig twice (at 17:41 and 20:47), is it fine to only run it after configuring /etc/default/grub?

I learned SELinux when I did the rhca, as it is actually a feature of redhat Linux, centos and fedora. It’s not that I don’t want to install it, I just want to avoid eventual problems to the system, as it’s more difficult to manage than polybar :) Anyway, I didn’t say no ;)

    • @eflinux

For MBR systems you'll have to create an extra /boot partition formatted with MBR, but install the boot loader anyway to the disk and not the partition. You can see here: gist.github.com/mjnaderi/28264ce68f87f52f2cabb823a503e673

@@eflinux Hello! Yes, I actually learned how to install Arch through that video.
Through some quick research I found that my amd motherboard uses Bios, but weirdly, EFI features were implemented in it, just not through the usual way, I don't remember the specific explanation. So I can boot, and use some features from EFI/UEFI, but not all of them. Grub for example never works when I install the EFI version. The same happened to Solus, which I tried to install before.
Overall, everything is confusing. Although I wanted to use luks encryption, I'm just going to stay on Arch without it, and maybe try again with a virtual machine.
Sorry for the long text. And your videos are great man, thanks for always trying to answer everyone! :D
