I used to be a Uniqlo mania but it's gotten expensive and when more Western people started to buy their clothes Uniqlo changed up lot of things, for me I think Uniqlo used to be a lot simplier in some way. I wish UK had their sister brand 'GU', it's similiar but a little cheaper and without the heatech or Airism stuff.

In the US, UNIQLO isn't affordable at all. That's why I wait to go back home to the Philippines or Japan even if it's just once a year then haul shit from there. For other people in the US ig it's affordable and the quality is great since that's the only price most Americans are exposed to but for other people who've been in a UNIQLO elsewhere the prices are staggeringly high (around 4x). Me and my mom are hosts for an exchange program and every time we take our Japanese students to UNIQLO to show them the price, they just gasp. Ik tariffs and other taxes can play a role in this but it really is just ridiculous (same goes for Daiso). $14 for a shirt on sale in the US but back in Asia it's around $6 reg price and about $3 sale (Philippines) and I've seen prices drop to around the 100-200Y in Japan ($1=$150 jpy). Those $88 sweats probs cost $30 or less back home. We (me and student) stumbled upon a trench coat at uniqlo on sale for around $60 (final price w/ tax *California*) and the student said "this is not UNIQLO" due to the pricing.

I recently started following you and - not gonna lie - I love your style and I'm slowly going to adapt and try to pull it off for myself.
Having said that, I felt like writing a bit about 'affordable' brands. To be honest, 25 dollars for a t-shirt is not much for some I'm sure, but where I live (Poland) it just wouldn't work to fill out my already lacking wardrobe with such items. They're nice to wear and last long I'm sure, however here on average one basic t-shirt costs something around 10$, even less for cheap/knockoff brands. My only chance of getting quality clothes on my salary (which is somewhere around 800 bucks a month) is to get lucky at thrift shops, which is where I got most of my best clothes from anyway.
Different meanings of affordable I guess.
And yeah, I'm trying to listen to the transcendental advice of 'just stop being poor', but so far it didn't work. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Like the soufflé line, they seem very soft and like they’re good quality but they’re primarily synthetic. I tend to stay away from acrylic and polyester for sweaters and I’ve seen you recommend the same in some of your videos. Do you recommend the soufflé sweaters as an exception? I’m sorry but these are not affordable for a lot of people, “affordable” for most people would be a quality essential item like hoodie or quarter zip for $50-60 or less. Tees more than $20-25 are a no-go.
I did get a few Uniqlo items for Xmas recently; their selvage denim pants, oversized tee, a fleece zip up, and a mock neck sweater. They are all really nice and fit me great, but I would never spend that much money for so little clothes.
