I just compared her with Medvedeva... I understand nothing in figure skating, but... Just for look, in my opinion, Yuna is better. It seems to me that her skating is lighter, prettier, like she was born on the ice. P.S. I'm from Russia.
she's so pretty. i know it seems so shallow of me to say that after all that she did on the ice, but i can't help it! it's true! and besides, everyone knows she's just perfection on the ice.. so, why bother :D
she is well-trained in every single element of figure skating like a textbook! and based on the almost perfect technique, she is performaing like a dancer on the ice!! that's why her performances impress many (figure skating) experts & judges first. if fastidious ppl in rules and everything like experts & judges are moved, how much more would the audience? :)
yuna is totally perfect! her jumps are so high and fast, so she can get the high scores by that. she can also get the highest level from spins and spirals. spins are so solid and beautiful and especially yuna spin is fantastic! and her spiral position, arabesque is hard to maintain for 6 seconds.
@sabrinawbr4 that's true. here's more specific: her olympic season program, which is what you guys're watching on, is a technically sooooo high level of difficulty. (like many experts say, it looks so easy only bcuz she delivers it looking like so effortless! as well as flawless at the most times! ;-) yea, "she's a phenomenon!" lol) in order to deliver all of the (high level of) elements successfully, the program goes (relatively) simple in choreography than her previous programs. thx!

@dracocaeli this was in October, 2009. she didn't do one flip jump then. but she did perfectly with the flip jump at olympics. figure skaters usually have one short program and one free program for one season. figure skating championships are held in from October to March for one season. they are Grand prix (October ~December), 4 continent championship or Euro campionship (January), Olympics (February) and World championship (March). This video is at 1st Grand prix in France

You can learn them easily with the clip and her jumps. Once you know how to distinguish jumps, figure skating wil be much more fun to you.
@yzhang2008 yes, many korean names can be written in chinese letter like other asian names. her name is 金妍兒 in chinese. It means 'beautiful golden girl' as I know. chinese characters can show what names mean, but it's not easy to read and write in chinese. so korean names are usually written in korean alphabet. I think chinese and korean letters have their own virtue as ideogram and phonogram.

what happened with that jump at 1:07 ? did she just give up? anyway apart from that it was a really good performance and great jumps, all really clean :)

She made her program perfect at olympics with triple flip. and.. what do you think the meaning of 'late'? The late which the commenter means is not same as what you think, I guess. It doesn't mean things like lateness for school, or time. The commenter said that triple lutz was on the latter part of the program.
