Stancing is actually a crime in South Africa. Roadworthy laws require a car to have a minimum clearance amount between the tyre and the wheel well. When you stance a car to the point where your tyres touch the wheel well or touch the well when going over a bump, the car is not road worthy. The "crime" part comes into play with regards to the license disc. If your license disc claims that your car is roadworthy but it is currently not roadworthy, the cops have the right to either confiscate the disc (Because the information on the disc that says your car is roadworthy is now false, which means the disc is now fraudulent), or they can arrest you. Its just that cops don't like to harass car owners over small things like stancing. But if you ever give them attitude and they decide to fine you or confiscate the car or the disc, you must just be aware that they have the right to do so. When you stance your car, you are at the mercy of cops.
@@drivemzansi8620 My comment was not an opinion sir, its the law. As soon as your vehicle is stanced so low that the tires touch the inside of your car, it is unroadworthy and cops have the right to impound it. The also have the right to impound it if you install wheels that are so large that if you turn the steering wheel all the way to the side, your tires rub against the inside of the car. Don't let you love of stancing cloud your judgement. A lot of these cars are not road legal. Blue headlights are also illegal.
