hahah, the beginning sounds just like Pinhead Gunpowder's Losers of the Year. i had no idea PHGP borrowed the melody lol i like this a lot, i love covers! and i think it also connects younger fans to past music. that's how i was introduced to the who, the ramones and the kinks when i was a kid.
This is hands down one of Green Day's best covers. In my opinion, what Green Day have done is as punk as it gets. What other band in the same genre as them would have the balls to put an album on Broadway? Broadway, and punk rock?But anyone who has seen American Idiot knows Green Day pulled it off. Yes, Green Day's music has changed. But you can not call them sell out. They're older now, and more mature. That's why their music is maturing. They can't sing songs about masturbation forever.

Oh my god, surrender is one of my favorite songs, and green day is one of my favorite bands, this is great.
