I want a prequel, the amount of subtle details showing a past to castle crashers makes an insane story, I've been trying to put it together myself and it's amazing, if they made a sequel I'd love to see more purple action.

odd, i always thought replayability was castle crasher's downfall with it relying so much on unskippable cutscenes, and it's humor in general, which only really works the first time around especially because the harder difficulty you unlock doesn't change anything, when that would've been the perfect time to give the bossess and enemies some kind of resprite for further comedic effect not to mention the problem of characters, they're all way too similar, with the only difference being magic, and the only difference there essentially being "does it suck or not?"
I think a Castle Crashers sequel would have so much potential, I feel like their is so much more Behemoth could do with Castle Crashers, it’s such a unique game and I feel like they could really do anything with a sequel.

If they don't ever make a sequel to Castle Crasher than I would hope they would release a Mario Maker-esque toolkit title for the series. So the community can continue making content for it.
Castle crashers probably had a lot more players than that let on. The original had tons of people playing on console. TONS It broke XBLA indie game records when it came out. It sold 110,000 copies in just 3 days on xbox alone, which was unheard of for indie games. Assuming people play a game when they buy it, when it came out it probably had peak players near 100,000 on XBOX ALONE. Factor in Ps3 and steam and who knows how many. They could expand on so many gameplay elements and make the second even better than the first. Its sales would be killer.
that’s what i’m saying man, ive been playing castle crashers since i was like 9 years old and ive never met anyone my age that plays games and doesn’t love it. and for behemoth i think that a sequel would bring back all of these now adult fans plus a new younger generation to love their games
A Castle Crashers sequel if they do it justice which they will it is gonna be amazing, the game as a base is great imo there are some things they could improve but they could focus on a bigger story, this was my only problem with cc the game was so amazing and the story was so short and the insane mode truly is insane and there was no in-between the normal mode was so easy and the insane mode so hard. Truly CC is a game with so much passion behind it and I think CC 2 if it is ever realised will have that same passion
Thieves Forest Troll mother was a wall that took me weeks to beat because I had no idea about what Juggling was and took even longer to beat Industrial Castle without Juggling The point in my first run through of Insane Mode was when I had got to Desert , easily the 2nd hardest level in the entire game
Good Video. Think one of the things that sorta shot Pit People in the foot was going early access; the crowd was there when it released early with little content, but when it came for the big release it felt like people just loss interest
I don't really think easy is in the equation Between the sheer amount of detail, variety, art, top tier anthemic scoring, and just sheer magic in the game, making not only a sequel that still feels like castle crashers and delivers that same magic, while expanding on it 15+ years later would be absolutely insane

I did hear something about Dan Paladin (I think) stating that he'll "do it later" or in other words close to it. Ultimately, us having a DLC for Castle Crashers named "Revenge of The Necromancer" is very welcomed. Edit: Although not an expansion of the main story, the fact we're getting a Painter Boss Update/DLC, this aged pretty good.
A sequel could show new parts of the castle crashes universe like more if thieves forest with a whole theive boss fight or an underwater area or even an area where you are riding on clouds
Pit People was alright. My main issue is the loss of quality from the beginning of the story mode to the ending. While the ending calling back to battle block was awesome, it felt more like a slideshow compared to the beginning cutscenes. The latter half feels like they were running out of early access money and needed to move on to a new project quickly and cheeply, which is corroborated by the highest player count. Just watching a cutscene compilation will give the biggeat indicator of how quickly the quality fell for the last story updates the game got.
Castle crashers could have a sequel of main boss being necromancer (because his magic let him survive that time) and he has dragon at cyclop room that he wanted to revive. He also had alot of dead bodys still in his room. So there is some start content for it
surely there's enough people in the castle crashers community to where some might know how to code or make games or something, why doesn't the community come together and make their own spiritual successor? idk would that be possible? I'd love to do that if I could.
the behemoth do not want any assets from their games being used, meaning it would all have to be original art and gameplay, making it very hard to be done without lots of time and money
@@Reckerless well yea, art would probably take the longest, but there's ways we could speed things up, like tile based levels and not fully drawn, literally every playable character in castle crashers has the same arms and legs, for gameplay all you would really have to do is make the playable characters and enemy ai for normal levels, and then bosses, it would definitely be hard and take a while, but maybe if the community gets together we could make something

Still a great game to this day, not exactly comparable to their other games. A sequel now even if it took quite some time to make, would thrive because its one of those games almost anyone could play and enjoy, most games now dont have splitscreen or any form of couch co-op not even system link, requiring all sorts of costs. Lots of real gamers would see it, get flooded with nostalgia and have to check it out, and more than likely love it. From a time when games were made to be good rather than make a sale.

I would love to see a castle crashers 2 and what I would like to see is some dlc story’s where you unlock more and more characters with different locations and, I would love to see skill trees, I’d love to see side missions, and I think away to sell the dlc story’s and maybe character dlc’s is to sell them for 5 dollars a pop and throw in a season pass for 20 bucks like in the early game days (oh yeah bring back insane mode)

This game was part of my child hood some with battle block theater I wish they would but i understand why they won't not wanting to just run it dry and milking it dry like modern games now a days
There are some points I want to point out: 1. Pit People probably didn't go well because it's a turn based strategy. All other mentioned games from The Behemoth are fast-paced challenging games. Pit People is different in this; 2. Like you said, The Behemoth wants to make original/unique games and not sequels. While Alien Hominid Invasion is sequel, it's Rogue-Like or Rogue-Lite game apart from original Alien Hominid which makes the game kinda unique; I believe that the thing about Castle Crashers is this: How to make sequel unique? Castle Crashers is already a great game, almost perfect in it's genre. How do you want to improve from that? To not make the same game but with no. "2" in it's name? (Same goes for Battleblock Theater)

It's the new characters for me. Beating the game and getting a character with new gameplay mechanics to do it again is amazing.

Yes. Yes yea there will be, because of 2 reasons: if it doesn’t happen I am going to scream, and I will not stop screaming until my vocal cords break or they make the game and publish it, number 2: it said Castle of crap 2! In alien hominid invasion and I think that’s a hint to castle crashers 2
I absolutely love Castle Crashers
This game was part of my child hood some with battle block theater I wish they would but i understand why they won't not wanting to just run it dry and milking it dry like modern games now a days
There are some points I want to point out: 1. Pit People probably didn't go well because it's a turn based strategy. All other mentioned games from The Behemoth are fast-paced challenging games. Pit People is different in this; 2. Like you said, The Behemoth wants to make original/unique games and not sequels. While Alien Hominid Invasion is sequel, it's Rogue-Like or Rogue-Lite game apart from original Alien Hominid which makes the game kinda unique; I believe that the thing about Castle Crashers is this: How to make sequel unique? Castle Crashers is already a great game, almost perfect in it's genre. How do you want to improve from that? To not make the same game but with no. "2" in it's name? (Same goes for Battleblock Theater)

@@Reckerless recently realized there a laser knife in alien hominid invasion you could probably use pink knight helmet and the laser knife to pretend to be a knight. That’s the closest it will get to a castle crashers 2 but they said they might but their working on alien hominid invasion maybe in the future
You should play Battleblock Theater while you wait for Castle Crashers 2
