There's a video of Fat Joe giving the best advice to Melle Mel. Mel needs to count his blessings. He is a legend and had prolific songs. The next generation of rappers wouldn't have been around if it wasn't for him. I understand his frustration with how alot of rap went from being a positive thing to songs about negative things, but not all rappers are gangsters. He needs to accept how every music genre is gonna evolve. Being bitter is bad for the mental health and he will spiral down a rabbithole if he continues this hate. Instead of talking about other rappers, I would love if he focused on writing a book, and maybe writing a script that can possibly become a Furious 5 biopic
He has a point the messaging is negative in hip hop. How ever it is real the streets are crazy and you write about what you see. What you grow up in. Mellie Mel , made some good points but it’s obvious that he clumped everyone on the top 5 as being commercial rappers that rap about materialism- and that’s simply not the case with Kendrick who you could argue is his great grandson - so in conclusion Mellie Mel - was Jelly not Jam about that list and that’s word to your mother 😂😂😂
If he is lucky eminem will just ignore him.
It's the one
No apologies, this ain't a disclaimer
I'm the king, a legend, the first hall of famer
Making diss tracks? I know you're with that
Now everybody get ready for the kickback
Barzzzzz😂
Why would he say such a thing? Cause its true.
I was there when hip-hop was just starting in the early 80's. And even my old azz agrees,
that Mel needs to go back to the hip-hop convalescent home for the late greats.
And don't think for one second, that any of you old school cats,
are immune to the senility.
Ok, Pill Clinton 😂😂😂😂
1. Em
2. Pac
3. Nas
When I'm 50 or 60 I'll b like music was better in my day.
Melle Mel is hiphop hiphop hiphop...........!
Why can't a man have an opinion?🤷🏾♂️ That's his opinion. We used to be able to have our own thoughts about a topic without being called a hater. You don't agree don't agree, that's ok too
Absolutely, but at the same time a man like him has to have thick skin after saying stuff that, to most, seems outlandish
Which also make it no wonder, that someone like eminem responded, that guy who was called whack the whole time for being white by people like Melle Mel
I got the upmost respect for all of the people that built hip hop, i'm just sayin be ready for retaliation if you say some pretty wild shit 😅😂
Opinion and lies or two different things you can't be intertwining them which is what he's doing. He's being reckless stop generalizing.
His opinion isn't valid because he hasn't listened to the artists he's criticizing
When people get old they other die or go crazy. Mell is no exception 🎉
'Either' instead of 'other' and as far as the illiteracy message that he was talking about, it is evidently clear in even with your words. Put away your colorful emoticons and pick your words a little better. You seem to focus on writing as you hear words instead of knowing and understanding them.
As far as the 'die or go crazy', it is really a narrowminded view of those that were on the planet longer than you have.
Whats with the weird gloves? And that moustache 😂😂😂
He ain’t lying
The new rap just shit talking
Im with you MELLE MEL. IVE been saying this since the 80s. How do you rap about killing your own people and get celebrated for it? And if you call that out, they call you a sellout
he right all these modern mcs talk about nothing., nas and jay z,, have nothing on k-rino and canibus.
He is right but why dont people recognize eminem yet he sang a song on racism in america how black people are treated wrongly also em sang about how rappers are indoctrating our kids to violence and how our kids look up to them and rappers should act right because kids watch them and idolise them
@@kennethoginaland1255 we respect Em,he is one the best ever,
But, but he and 50 did not make current hiphop ,what it is, or evolve it , in any way.
@@Gracchi respect that bro same as me i do not know why people hate him but in his song he stated that people envy him but he walks around like nothing is bothering him and they hate that
Why do people who help achieve something ruins everything when they open there mouths.
He'll end Jay Z and Nas in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 with his book bag for real.
If his Rap song the message was so transformative why we still out hear killing each other? African Bambaata had a good message also. We still doing dirt why? We are sinners!! Lyrically you cannot touch Em, Jay, Nas, Biggie not even Snoop!!!
SOME 1 TELL MELVIN OUR KIDS WERE'NT READING @ A 12 TH. GRADE LEVEL WHEN THE' NESSAGE" WAS OUT IN 82' EITHER I WAS SINCE THE 4 TH. GRADE!! BIT MEL LOVE YOU 2 DEFFF!!! BUT THESE ARE YOUR CHILDREN & SUM ARE GONNA BUILD A BETTER SAND- CASTLE THAN YOU??!!!!!!!!!!!
No one should care who the "top rappers" are in someone else's list... but the fact that Melle Mel doesn't even seem to recognize names like Kendrick and Nas is all you need to know.
Mel has a really good point about the state of hip hop. It has become vile and degrading in so many ways. I get where hes coming.
Let’s not pretend that rappers have not been saying degrading things since way back
@@immealldayeveryday9425 not when rap first came out. Gangsta rap changed everything from cultural consciousness to just bragging about running the streets and disrespecting women. Like Mel said, they just be talking sh*t and he's kinda right.
@@chrisreed3040 that does not change what I said, this has been happening since waaaaaaayyyyy back so let’s keep it a buck
@@immealldayeveryday9425 bruh wasn't nobody in the late 70's rapping about my coochie pink my booty hole brown or niggaz making song after song glorifying murdering each other while ppl dance to the songs like its a Micheal Jackson track LoL. Bruh, Mel has a point, rap has gone to shit, the old heads are still making music and a few artists today make actual hip hop. But trap isn't hip hop and these female rappers today aren't nearly as good as a missy Elliot or Eve. Even lil Kim had variety and bars and she was a whore. Rap will only get worse.
Because he sounds like a cunt, and upset at the world. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Legend Meli Mel..
The GOAT 🎉
No of these rappers in the passs 27 yrs compares to late 80s/early 90s rappers as far as content is concern... examples, Xclan, brand nubain, public enemy, chill rob g, Lakim Shabazz, chubb rock, intelligent hoodlum, kane, rakim, de la soul, krs1, heavy d,kool g rap,etc... the rappers that has been mainstream for the last 27-29 years can't even remake the self destruction song
That’s a lie. Kendrick cole Lupe joeybadass lute ect you’re just old
@kristophergreenhow98 so what kind of content are they putting out?
Melle just wants to be in the spot light again. In his mind he is the same guy who made it, but honestly he lost his touch. People say he is rapping like in the 80s, no... he is worse than he was back in the days. Just because the beat is old school doesn't mean he is bringing the same level, he is under that level! The Old Melle would tear today's Melle in two. You need to practice, just like in the gym, if you are out, you are out of shape, and oh boy Melle is out of shape!
Mel is jacked ….. one of my new heroes … 61 workin out with Jabar .. love and respect ..
I think he's correct, if you're mature about his reasoning for saying what he said, these rappers are just talking shit, you can't take most of it literally, it seems as if rapping in the 80s and 90s took a little more effort than what I'm hearing in todays rap,but in the end it's just niggas talking shit,it'd not that in important
This dude talking down Nas
but why would he down Nas? he wasnt just "talking shit".
He’s right. Who tf are y’all is the question.
Em is better than the to p guy EM is the Goat 🐐
Melly.....
Your not top 50. Get over it 😂😂😂😂
Mel needs someone to pull him to the side.
In my opinion Rakim is the goat 🐐 of hip-hop
common bruh he already admitted it that eminem is the top 1 they can't put him literally cuz hes white but he admitted it cuz if em is black he will definitely 1 for them.
all i hear is Melle talking S***
I understand what he saying everyone talks about drugs and crimes not much of Nas rapping like that so I get what saying the youth can’t read but can memorize a rap lyric quick
But Melly is being talked about now. -Instructed promotional-
Outside of his album "4:44" Jay-Z doesn't say much with thought-provoking substance outside of a song or verse here and there. But Nas and Kendrick always deliver.
Melle Mel didn't write his verse in The Message
Mel is racist as hell. He always bring it to color. Any respect had for him is gone. Everyone after him is trash etc etc. Mel, be happy you made what you did, but remember, if you didn’t someone else would have filled that role. Facts.
In the 80s we had more black and Latino young men in college and universities because of hip-hop, now we have more black and Latino young men in prison and dead, like that shit is cool.
Sorry but Jay Z isnt better than Nas.
Your correct Jay z not a more skilled rapper than Mr Nas,and Mel I think Mel talking about the message what a lot of rappers bringing to us which is nothing at da same time he might be a lil biased too lol
Melle needs to take off those food prossesing gloves
He’s right. How many young black men emulate rappers and end up in jail. Most rappers rap but don’t have any substance. Besides fast rhyming. Investments in private prison system and rap go hand and hand.
Why is OG's head so damn big 💀
I'm a fan of Mel Mel & Furious Five..... I'm partial to what Mel is saying...I have my own opinions on the newest rappers but that's not important. Times change, styles change, Mel does have some strong points but at the same time let us recognize new talent and give respect based on character & content.
Mel is a way better rapper than Eminem and any other rapper that ain't saying shit, if you actually go listen to his lyrics from back in the day they actually ment something and still relevant today, ya really disrespecting this man.
He’s hundred percent right
Melle mel changed the game yes but:
His rhymes sound like they’re written with crayons 🖍️
He gives off Thugnificent vibes
He’s 5’2 = He’s mad at everyone all the time
Mel we was laughing at you 🤣😅😅😅😂😂😅😅😂😂😅😅
Mel should eat all the tide pods
Mel does have a POINT. BUT,todays RAP MUSIC all sounds the same, BECAUSE OF THE "DRILL" STYLE of RAP IS DOMINATING the airwaves. BEING "POSITIVE in todays RAP SCENE is "NOT" gonna GO PLATINUM at all. Thats Mel'$ beef.
100 facts by melle mel
Ohnoooo! He fuctup wit Nas
Facts 💯
This dude lost his asteroids
He is talking facts thou we just never had nothing else to listen so we fell in love with the shi😢
I mean he ain’t lying
