- Working on the new to us 532ci BBC engine. We have a fully assembled "Short Block". This engine is coming together nice and is one step closer to being ready to fire up and run. Today we installed the timing pointer, and found TDC and got the timing pointer accurately set to 0 deg. This is a very important step, and if not done ignition timing could be retarded causing low power or even worse, too far advanced causing catastrophic engine damage. Mike is also working on his hotrod today.....More issues.....But that's drag racing!

lmao... "A Very Near" caliper. You could also have used tap and a fine tooth marker. Lay the tape on the balancer and extend the marks onto the tape. Then remove the tape and index it on the "0" line.
You're doing a modified version of the method performed when youre using a piston stop. Cool walk through.
SEND IT !!!!!
Send it!! TJ channel way...😊
That 535 is goood
Ya Should have did 1 Video on Mike and 1 on the BBC / Mike Don't risk it Snatch it out and ck the Bearings Especially the Cam Bearings Cause Bearings and Rings and Gaskets are a Lot Cheaper than a Engine and Hey if they look good reuse the Bearings But that way you know for Sure and can relax
When are y’all going to run that VEGA?!!😎👊🏾🌱
H ran it some last year
I don’t think you have anything to worry about Mike. Let her rip
Lazy people always pay more ! So...
Send it!!!!win that small tire shootout
Take that LS apart
John when you get to TDC Overlap Turn ya Dial indicator Face to ZERO then make the sweep back and forth
We held convention last night and the raccoon consensus is a diet Coke , and no tax the rest of the season! They all said great job with what you did with what you had!
Could be bits of copper left I the pan or hung up I a line or anything. If was mine and as much as I love to race shes going in the box like it is and I'm going on FULL SEND BABY lol Can't wait to see that BBC in the mustang TJ, that big blocks always bn your dream lol now u got it...good luck
Change oil not had good luck with Brad oil, Was eating up crank thrust washer on Kawasaki grade bike. After crank, I switched oil not had an issue since
Thinking Mike should pull the pan and check a main bearing, the thrust bearing and maybe a couple rod bearings. Cheap insurance to be certain..
Guess the answer is big block
Easy boosted power can over build without going broke too
To make your scribe mark show up better. Use sharpie to “paint” a small area and then scratch your mark with the calipers on the sharpie. I use this technique all time at work.
Good idea
Hell yea John
You should buy a single post portable lift for that shop.
🎉🎉 I THINK IT'S LEFT OVER FROM OIL SYSTEM 🎉🎉
Biggest practical boost vs cubes
532 badass John ❤🇺🇸💪🏼
🎉🎉 I THINK IT'S REWARDED
That stud looks pretty close to the balancer 6:26 Man I’m excited for this new build!
I like them bare
Why didn’t you paint the block John ?
Why? Because he's Turbo John, not Courtney.😜
I know right? A little bit of tape and a rattle can of engine paint.
Looking good buddy!
