I think you had to load the game in a 2 minute window to get this to happen. - For the server character limit I understand the concerns, the excessive amount of characters was breaking the game and making the game unplayable and had to make this emergency change at the request of other server owners. For the past several months we have been reccomending to limit the amount of mods and characters on a server so if this situation happens people don't lose their progress. Server owners and mods keep adding unlimited characters and mods until their server breaks and then come asking us for help wondering why the game is bricked. We don't plan on changing the limit of 50. - We decreased the deletion timer on dinosaurs from 30 seconds to 5 seconds. The reason why it was set to 30 seconds was we were getting mass support tickets from players deleting their dinosaurs losing all their progress accidentally. Even with the double name confirmation. - Regarding the paid content. While this dinosaur has been changed to be free, future post-release game content will be paid. We will just better communicate it in the future. These plans have not changed. It's not possible to run a 10+ year lifespan live service game that has on going monthly costs and team members we need to pay from a single purchase. However all the dinosaurs promised in our crowdfunding campaign including microraptor will be included. - We have always been against predatory microtransactions in games, there are a lot of games that have pay to win elements such as buying boosts to make characters stronger and some games can try to farm out thousands of dollars of microtransactions from players. Dinosaurs that are purchased separately in packs will be around the same price and spending more money won't get you more powerful in-game. (The strongest dinosaur and weakest dinosaur pack are the same price) -Path of Titans has for the past several years since launching on mobile and adding Path of Titans coins has had a business model selling dinosaur packs, this doesn't plan on changing. However we currently plan on keeping other updates like new maps and other content updates free to players.This is because the game moving forward is planning on being free to try and download with players upgrading if they like the game. Future post release dinosaurs will be bundled into 4 packs however so keep costs affordable to players. Thanks for the support

Would there be a posibility to allow community server ownerrs to toggle the amount of dinos owned by players? That would mayhaps be a alright comprimise for some of the server owners. However I also understand how some owners would abuse the community with that option. As for the micro transactions clarity is all we need and want. Myself and many others were assuming this dinosaur release would be another TLC, and/or the release of microraptor. Most of us were happy with that. Myself and my path of titans buddies all have discussed this and understand the rush bc of the nintendo shop updates limitations and cut off period however this release did feel very rushed as a result. Tyrannotitan being for 7$ is a scandal, of course, but we can't forget about the tragedy of having to delete dinos due to the newly enacted 50 dino limit. I had to delete 22 dinos on a server to play and have Tyrannotitan. (funny how I named my Psittaco Taco)
This is the first time I’ve genuinely been worried for the future of PoT. The devs have said MANY times that all future dinos will be free (assuming you bought the deluxe founders edition or the pack that’s supposed to give you ALL of the dinosaurs) yet now they’re suddenly going back on their word!? Guess all those skin packs aren’t selling well enough for them... Saying I’m disappointed in the devs is a massive understatement.

Suggestion: make an external dino "bank" on the Discord server where someone can "deposit" their dino before deleting it and then "withdraw" it at any time.

Ive heard from alot of people that matt was harrassed for hours with death threats. However, that also doesnt excuse alderons scummy behavior. Alderon knows their community, and the fact that they never apologised + immediately complying + suggested moving on makes me think this was a test for our reactions. The community became violent for something like this happening, so they probably jotted it down, made a excuse about communication, and are trying to distance themself from the situation atm. It’s so annoying that some people keep goading others over this shit. No it is not “just seven dollars”. We payed 30 dollars for full access plus if they charged for the new Dino 37. Let’s say once the game is out they release 20 more Dino’s that’s 140 on top of the 30 already spent man. Some people can’t think for more than ten seconds. The devs said they were against this type of behavior and went back on their word. People who can’t see that seem to have issues holding people accountable in their lives. I’m not letting people run all over me.
Only 4 more dinosaurs would've been more than the price of the base game if you buy it with only one backer skin. 9 more would exceed the price of the base game plus all backer skins. It's absurd.

I had 82 myself i had to delete 32 just to be able to get in and remove the marks off dinos i wanted to delete, having to delete dinos with 0 marks just to get the ablity to log on to remove them. It was so freaking upseting, they should of at least allowed people to still log into some dinos just to remove marks or at least WARNED people this was coming so they could prepare. now iam terrofired i cant play all the dinos i enjoy becuse of the charter limit.
The thing that confuses me the most is the fact that the original tyrannotitan pack included 2 or 3 skins, which means that you got the skins when buying the dinosaur... But if the dinosaur is something you already have to pay for, then what is the point of having the skins in the pack in the first place?
That's what I was wondering. Shouldn't they just come with it like the other skins? Maybe they planned on separating the skins into a different pack in the future
I will be honest. The character list cut sucks yes, but if it's for the sake of people being able to PLAY on the servers I think the setback will be fine. At least till they figure out a proper way to reintroduce larger character lists
I dont understand why they thought it was okay to put an entire playable behind a paywall. There are SEVERAL different ways to earn money. It doesn't even have to be just skins either. Ive heard a bunch of different ideas like new emotes or vocalizations, new visual subspecies changes, permanent scars, nest decor packs, cave decor packs, or even just accessories for your dino. Just little things that wouldn't change the game at all except for visually. They had absolutely no excuse for their decision.
I simply won't be playing path at all until they revert the maximum amount of characters allowed. I gotta delete 23 adult dinos all took on average 5 hours growing. Not worth playing if I just get my progress deleted. Lmk if there are any petitions to change it or SMT.
Yesterday me and a pack of 9 other Diplocaulus and a giant salamander destroyed a full grown spino in Impact Crater on Sastrei Island. Most epic fight I had in Path of Titans.
The devs can charge ALL THEY WANT for cosmetics, but once they start locking playables behind paywalls, the game becomes pay-to-win, which will kill any game where one loss = hour of progress down the drain.
since there's already confirmation that there will be post game DLC paid dinos ( which is still bad for the game imo since the full access promised all dino future releases, planned or not) at the very least I'd recommend that they be no more that 2 USD in value since this to me is a reasonable amount for 4 animals for a post game DLC, and not sell a single dino for 7 USD because that is plain ridiculous and overly expensive.
hopefully they can fix it to super it soon and stuff (even though i can't play cause on xbox which was just a preview and that i could only play for a certain amount of time before i couldn't and stuff and trying to play on controller sucked so much like it was so hard and barley knew what i was doing plus that was many many many months ago but that being said i do hope they can fix that issue with characters)

I was going to play echoedark today, and when i logged in for the first time since it updated, all of my characters was gone. every single one. i had to have had at least 90 dinos or around something like that. sure it doesn’t take long to grow them, but when you challenge yourself to grow every single dino in the game, including modded ones… that stacks. a lot. I’m pissed.. also hi charizard.
I've already said the negatives a million times about this update so I'll ignore it for this comment. I just wanna say, the model for this dinosaur gives me hope. Every mistake they have made in other theropods is not made in this. It has keratinous sheaths over its face for crying out loud!! We WILL get a proper rex someday!!

The funny thing is they make no mention in there patch notes that you have to pay for the new dino yet you do, like why hide that fact? people have a right to know the truth that you have to pay to play for it
if they start doing this after the game is finished, i think its totally alright, but i do wish they wouldnt include skins just to make it more expensive. alot of people just don't care about skins and i feel like 7$ for what would be a singular species and nothing more for most people is way too much, keep the 7$ with the skins for the people who like it, but also selling only the dinosaur as a cheaper option would work and make everyone happy.
Lol why so much extra security on deleting dinosaurs in this game? It should be as simple as clicking delete and answering an "are you sure" question, but no they just had to make it as tedious as possible.
It’s hard to say, I mean i’d never buy skins, so if they had a payed dino that’s fine, I’d like to support the devs that aren’t boring skins when mods exist. It’s definitely way less malicious than the helldivers 2 bs
Here’s the thing tho, you have to consider this from a larger mmo/meta perspective. Paid skins are cosmetic, and don’t affect gameplay at all. Dinosaurs do! So, if you have paid dinosaurs, you immediately create a divide of “who can afford it and who can’t” And if that dinosaur is good in the meta, you have put those who can’t afford it at a huge disadvantage (7 bucks is still a lot for some people!). It affects a lot more than a lot of people realize. They can make extra money without disturbing the meta like this. With, for example, the skins. I think micro transactions in a game like this are FINE, as long as they are purely cosmetic. Otherwise, you have the real potential of creating a game that becomes pay to win
This is also not me saying that the new dinosaur IS op, but that you can create an environment where paid dinosaurs can become op in order to incentivize people to pay

The devs said they were against this type of behavior and went back on their word. People who can’t see that seem to have issues holding people accountable in their lives. Only 4 more dinosaurs would've been more than the price of the base game if you buy it with only one backer skin. 9 more would exceed the price of the base game plus all backer skins. It's absurd.
Not only this but why are we defending pay to win features now? Blocking dinosaurs behind paywalls make it so that there is a divide between “people who can pay to access the full game” and “people who can’t”. I HATE when mmos do this, and we shouldn’t coddle it.
Not only that, but 7 dollars can be a lot for some people!! I know people who are living paycheck to paycheck and CANT afford to spend that seven extra bucks, and are now locked from that feature!!

As a well-known path of titans enjoyer this shit made me so disappointed love this game and to see it fumble the bag so incredibly hard just breaks my heart no shade to the Alderaan team but whoever they let cook with this needs to be taken away from the kitchen permanently I hope if they never do anything like this ever again I love this game I don't want to ever go down the path of the, day of dragons :C

@ This isn’t a free game so that’s not an excuse that PoT can use. And what do you think the skin packs are for? Plus on mobile you have to buy the dinos themselves so the devs are getting money from that market too. Oh AND they have crowd funding on top of all that. There’s no excuse for PoT to have paywalls or aggressive mtx other than pure greed. Game’s don’t have to be as greedy as Fortnite or CoD to succeed. 🤦♂️

I had 82 myself i had to delete 32 just to be able to get in and remove the marks off dinos i wanted to delete, having to delete dinos with 0 marks just to get the ablity to log on to remove them. It was so freaking upseting, they should of at least allowed people to still log into some dinos just to remove marks or at least WARNED people this was coming so they could prepare. now iam terrofired i cant play all the dinos i enjoy becuse of the charter limit.
The thing that confuses me the most is the fact that the original tyrannotitan pack included 2 or 3 skins, which means that you got the skins when buying the dinosaur... But if the dinosaur is something you already have to pay for, then what is the point of having the skins in the pack in the first place?
That's what I was wondering. Shouldn't they just come with it like the other skins? Maybe they planned on separating the skins into a different pack in the future

I will be honest. The character list cut sucks yes, but if it's for the sake of people being able to PLAY on the servers I think the setback will be fine. At least till they figure out a proper way to reintroduce larger character lists

I dont understand why they thought it was okay to put an entire playable behind a paywall. There are SEVERAL different ways to earn money. It doesn't even have to be just skins either. Ive heard a bunch of different ideas like new emotes or vocalizations, new visual subspecies changes, permanent scars, nest decor packs, cave decor packs, or even just accessories for your dino. Just little things that wouldn't change the game at all except for visually. They had absolutely no excuse for their decision.

I simply won't be playing path at all until they revert the maximum amount of characters allowed. I gotta delete 23 adult dinos all took on average 5 hours growing. Not worth playing if I just get my progress deleted.

Yesterday me and a pack of 9 other Diplocaulus and a giant salamander destroyed a full grown spino in Impact Crater on Sastrei Island. Most epic fight I had in Path of Titans.
The devs can charge ALL THEY WANT for cosmetics, but once they start locking playables behind paywalls, the game becomes pay-to-win, which will kill any game where one loss = hour of progress down the drain.
Woke up this morning wanting to go on satrei island to give tyranotitan a test there was 102 people already on the server

since there's already confirmation that there will be post game DLC paid dinos ( which is still bad for the game imo since the full access promised all dino future releases, planned or not) at the very least I'd recommend that they be no more that 2 USD in value since this to me is a reasonable amount for 4 animals for a post game DLC, and not sell a single dino for 7 USD because that is plain ridiculous and overly expensive.

I was going to play echoedark today, and when i logged in for the first time since it updated, all of my characters was gone. every single one. i had to have had at least 90 dinos or around something like that. sure it doesn’t take long to grow them, but when you challenge yourself to grow every single dino in the game, including modded ones… that stacks. a lot. Every mistake they have made in other theropods is not made in this. It has keratinous sheaths over its face for crying out loud!! We WILL get a proper rex someday!!

The funny thing is they make no mention in there patch notes that you have to pay for the new dino yet you do, like why hide that fact? people have a right to know the truth that you have to pay to play for it
if they start doing this after the game is finished, i think its totally alright, but i do wish they wouldnt include skins just to make it more expensive. alot of people just don't care about skins and i feel like 7$ for what would be a singular species and nothing more for most people is way too much, keep the 7$ with the skins for the people who like it, but also selling only the dinosaur as a cheaper option would work and make everyone happy.

Lol why so much extra security on deleting dinosaurs in this game? It should be as simple as clicking delete and answering an "are you sure" question, but no they just had to make it as tedious as possible.

It’s hard to say, I mean i’d never buy skins, so if they had a payed dino that’s fine, I’d like to support the devs that aren’t boring skins when mods exist. It’s definitely way less malicious than the helldivers 2 bs
Here’s the thing tho, you have to consider this from a larger mmo/meta perspective. Paid skins are cosmetic, and don’t affect gameplay at all.
Dinosaurs do! So, if you have paid dinosaurs, you immediately create a divide of “who can afford it and who can’t”
And if that dinosaur is good in the meta, you have put those who can’t afford it at a huge disadvantage (7 bucks is still a lot for some people!). It affects a lot more than a lot of people realize. They can make extra money without disturbing the meta like this. With, for example, the skins.
I think micro transactions in a game like this are FINE, as long as they are purely cosmetic. Otherwise, you have the real potential of creating a game that becomes pay to win
This is also not me saying that the new dinosaur IS op, but that you can create an environment where paid dinosaurs can become op in order to incentivize people to pay
