    I would be interested if the price was around maybe $300. That would also interest a lot of potential buyers. But at the current price, they probably can only sell to people with a lot of money in their pockets and don't know what to do with it.

      Yes I hear you on the price. It’s definitely a premium accessory and depends on the individual preferences and how much value it brings to their indoor setup.

      With respect to price, this is right in line with the many other rocker plate options sold around the world that offer leaning & fore-aft motion. These are still small scale production in most cases, and there is a bit of a premium there. Some other less expensive options exist, but they often lack the same functions (lean only) or you can head down the DIY path for less money as long as you have tools and willingness to do the work.

    Another awesome review, thank you! I absolutely just found my next purchase before the indoor season here in the US is upon us! Like you, I have owned Inside Ride rollers for years and yes, they are absolutely amazing, however, they are rollers and don't really conform to all of the indoor riding scenarios. I switched to the Zwift hub several months ago, this will definitely be my next purchase!

    Thanks for another great review. The close feel between the E-Flex and motion rollers is a key detail I value. In the span between rigid trainers and motion rollers, I feel like the E-Flex Plus hits about 80% of that motion roller feel (and related benefits to comfort and riding involvement) without the associated risks you mention in extremely hard efforts (and recoveries).
    The adjustment range suits everyone from those wanting minimal lean action to the other end (like me) who want a very active motion seated and standing. That and the other benefits make this my favorite bike trainer motion option.

    This looks brill and an improvement over the other options.
    Is it available in Europe/UK?
    Just a few thoughts...
    Cost is a problem, especially if you've invested in rocker plate already (I have a cheap one but it works great). Paying this much would hurt. Does it need to cost as much?
    Not sure about missing the 4th bolt. It obviously takes some weight at the front, is there a possibility of the front plate bending/twisting over time? It would look bad if you were to fit the original legs and they were misaligned!
    Thanks for the great video!

    • @Chader9
      @Chader9 11 місяців тому

      "Does it need to cost as much?"
      - As a person working in manufacturing with similar materials and process, I think the pure cost of materials and labor make sense with the pricing. Outside of that, there is more to pricing products that cost of goods and services. It's all part of the fun 'Econ' world with supply and demand as a large factor, but more at play. Regardless of the above, when you compare the price of this E-Flex Plus to other options, I see this as very reasonable and competitive.
      - Saris MP1 is $950 USD right now and it offers the same basic motions while totally lacking any adjustability.
      - Wahoo Kickr Move is $1600 USD which is a $300 premium over the $1300 Wahoo Kickr that lacks the fore-aft motion.
      - Tacx Neo Motion Plates are $300 USD ($200 on sale right now) for the same additional motion as the Kickr Move.
      - And if you price against other rocker plates from smaller makers, they are all around $600 USD or more for dual-motion.
      - All of those other options above lack any steering connection that's part of the E-Flex Plus. With that all in mind, I see the E-Flex Plus as not only fair, but a bargain since it offers more features and benefits than any of the options I have seen and tried.

    • @Chader9
      @Chader9 11 місяців тому

      "is there a possibility of the front plate bending/twisting over time?"
      - Not a concern IMO. The Hub frame is welded steel plate and tube. It is stronger than needed for the normal use case (design/safety factor) and I don't see the off-center load here being much of an issue.

    • @Chader9
      @Chader9 11 місяців тому

      "Is it available in Europe/UK?",
      - Sadly it's not easy or cheap from what I've heard. The Inside Ride shipping page gives some 3rd party options, but they seem to be cost prohibitive from the few people I've seen mention it.

      @@SmartBikeTrainers ahh ok I didn’t know this accessory; I see that is also available for the WAHOO CORE, right ?? The good point is that it needs less space than a platform/ rocker plate . Is this one of the best advantages of the E flex in comparison to a rocker plate ??

    • @Chader9
      @Chader9 11 місяців тому +2

      @@alejandro.a.mYes, minimal space and height from the E-Flex Plus is a huge benefit that I appreciate compared to a typical rocker plate.
      But as covered in the video, the connection between leaning action being connected to the handlebars also sets this apart from all other rocker plates. This is a step closer to what we experience when riding outside and feels more natural to me compared to even the best rocker plate with no steering connection.
      Additionally, since this replaces the front wheel & tire too it makes the whole setup maintenance free from a tire pressure standpoint compared to most setups. And if you ever have to move the setup, the small size and separate sections are far lighter and easier to handle than a larger rocker plate.
      This is just a superior design to the many other motion solutions I have tried and it's why I have used an E-Flex for going into my 3rd training season now.

    I find riding inside miserable. My muscles really hurt, and it feels like I have to put out alot more power. Last time I i rode alp de zwift, haven't been on the trainer since. Its a torture machine that special type of people love

    • @Chader9
      @Chader9 11 місяців тому +1

      No guarantee, but the difference between a typical rigid trainer and one with motion added (like this E-Flex) can help alleviate muscular fatigue as well as the more common saddle discomfort. There is nothing natural about locking a bike in position like most trainers do. Giving at least some freedom of motion helps by making the ride inside at least a step closer to the movement we get outside.
      That said, there are some very low cost & easy DIY hacks a person can try to see if more motion is a benefit for them. Thicker trainer mats up to stacks of foam sheets under the trainer feet are quick and easy tricks to try. There are further steps in the DIY direction if those prove promising or you can jump to a built or purchased solution too.
      Motion is not necessary or beneficial for every rider, but I'd say that over half of the people I've seen try motion solutions end up liking them from the improved indoor ride experience.

    In saddle motion feels great on these. But out of the saddle... I'm not sold. Even in this video, your out of the saddle motion doesn't look natural to me - the bike tilted the opposite way it should be with your pedal stroke.
    My take: say e-flex beats a rocker plate when seated... but rocker plates are better out of the saddle.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  11 місяців тому

      Right, out of the saddle will take some getting used to and training. The subtle movements motion platforms offer is what make them beneficial for extended riding time.

    • @peoplepower1272

      Like I said in another reply, this is priced similarly to the other rocker plates that offer the same motion directions. There are lower priced options, but most of those offer just lean only without fore-aft.
