Good informative video. What lift are you using? That looks like a necessity.

i would like to know the engineering reason for putting locktite on the splines if you have a nut and belleville washer already

Because it's an aluminum hub and a steel shaft. Two different metals. The steel shaft will wear into the aluminum. So the loctite acts as a sleeve retainer and restricts the movement to protect the hub. If that makes sense.

Why loctite and not grease? Or anti seize

I have the same question. I've replaced a ton of CV axles on cars and trucks and I anti-seize the crap out of them or they're a nightmare to get apart the next time. I would never loctite my splines. I don't know what their reasoning behind this is, but I'm gonna pass on the loctite and use anti-seize. I'm also wondering why you would "service" your CV axles. I only mess with them if they're broken or have a torn boot.

Jeremy Strey hey man. So I think servicing your axles is a good idea around once a season. It keeps them from getting “stuck” in the diff and trans. Plus allows you to inspect your seals and what not.

Brandon R makes sense. The Pro XP is my first SXS. I’ve ridden dirt bikes my whole life and worked on cars my whole life. I’ve done piles of CV axles in cars and I’ve never had one so stuck I couldn’t get it to pop with a pry bar and a couple whacks with a hammer. I’m really confused by the loctite though. I always put anti-seize on splines unless it’s the slip-joint on a driveshaft then it gets grease.
