When this came out, the idea of searching for an ancient technology that was basically a VCR was funny because the idea of a VCR being unknown to anyone was unfathomable. Now in 2024 there are many people who have no idea what a VCR is.

it was supposed to be sent back to her after 10 years like a time capsule, but the moon blew up, things changed, so the mail ended up looping around the solar system trying to reach her location.
And we got here! The episode with the kid who was actually an old man was the product of the same explosion that took Fay out and I just noticed it watching this. This episode is one of my favorite episodes of any anime.
This one…. This one hits anyone over 30. So pin point hard.

The reason they said earlier in the episode that the tape had been mailed to most of the solar system was because Fae mailed it to herself and it's been in the mail system circulating trying to find her for decades.
