Moving licenses and plugins to another computer should not require a rocket scientist to perform this process. Companies creating these installation programs should ensure that it's easy and intuitive because you only perform this once in a blue moon.
In this video I'll be showing you, step by step, how to move waves licenses and legacy plugins to a new computer and I can tell you as an IT professional it was not easy nor intuitive.

This migration is by FAR the most ridiculous thing I've ever had to do in pro audio. It should be much easier considering Waves has been around since the beginning of plugins. Newer companies make their process just a couple of clicks. Hell, even Pace iLok isn't this convoluted.
Waves is going to great lengths to try and get you to update the plugins. There's really no other explanation.

Thank you, I was struggling with this for quite a while. Their website is not very specific.
You're welcome! That's the reason I've created this video because even I, an IT professional took me hours to figure out what their software is trying to do. Their software does not properly detect the name of your computer which added another complication.

If you cannot open Waves Central, try to uninstall and reinstall it.

It should, but I have not tried it yet. Waves has a version for Mac that came out on November 2023. Here's a summary,

To install and activate Waves V9.92 plugins, use the following offline installation procedure.
Important Notes:
V9.92 plugins can be activated by Waves Creative Access subscription licenses and perpetual (non-subscription) V14-V9 licenses.
Products released after May 3, 2018 are not part of the V9.92 installer.
To check if a plugin exists in the V9.92 installer, visit this page.
Sample libraries for Waves instruments must be installed manually.
For V9 SoundGrid Applications (SoundGrid Studio, MultiRack, eMotion LV1, and StudioRack) - please use the V9 SoundGrid applications offline installer.
This article covers situations such as:
You have newer licenses but need to install V9.92 software due to system requirements.
You have V9 licenses and wish to install V9.92.
On Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and macOS Sierra (10.12) and below:
On Windows 10 or macOS High Sierra 10.13

There is nothing hard about this and you should already have Waves Central installed if you have a legit installation since it is used to manage your plugins.
Did you watch the Video? If it's not a legit installation, why my old plugin licenses were detected?
There is no reason why we should have to download legacy shells, and jump around between two different versions of Waves Central to migrate a few simple plugins.
Funny thing is, if you "update" all your plugs, or have their subscription plan, then you don't have to jump through all these hoops. Hmmmm? 👎.
Extremely poor business model in my opinion. Legacy products could be, and should be available to download directly from your account in the most current version of Waves Central.
Like someone else commented....did you actually watch the video? If you think this is an acceptable method of migration, then you're part of the problem.
