I've kicked around getting a Saddlemen for years....I'm thinking about it again. Great review and information for the viewer. I'll starting looking again...
The groove in the Dominator also allows some cool air to cool the jewels, but….its also a rain channel that will leave your jewels soaking wet in a good rain
Well, got to comment on this . Picked up new streetglide st, 250 miles picking up stock seat was comfy , but too short for 6ft guy. Invested in new saddle man dominator extra length , well made seat, looks good. Too 4K miles to break in. Drawbacks, 1 1/2 inches taller and as stated, not wide enough for average guy, needs 4 inches extra width. As far as comfort, still need to stretch hard butt after 200 miles, same as stock seat.
@robertbrightwell3799 i agree on width. Don't have that issue stretching to be fair im at a gas station at 180 miles. That's what happens tho with performance upgrades 😆
I just picked up the Dominator seat for my 2012 Iron 883. When I bought the bike, it had a low profile fabric mesh solo seat. I felt like I was going to slide off the back when I gave it a little throttle. I like the high back slope on the dominator. It keeps me in my seat. I didn't buy the back rest just yet. But I did pick up the matching passenger pillion pad for when I'm ready to take my wife for a ride.
I bought a mustang without sitting on it. Mistake. Sits too high and presses into my upper hamstrings. Beautiful seat! Probably perfect for a smaller guy.
I have a roadsofa. I have 1000s of miles and it is still a brick. My cousin has the exact same seat as I have and his is plush. I am considering the dominator now. I’m hoping it breaks in better than the road sofa. I also have a saddlemen step up. I like it for a few hundred miles. I like the quality of the saddlemen.
My Dyna had mustang seat when I bought it. I'm not to happy with it an was wondering what others thought of saddleman seats. An here you are giving your thoughts on saddleman seats, how appropriate, Thanks!
I'm having problems with custom HD blackstar lightening wheels not holding tire pressure. What steps would you take with both custom wheels not holding pressure? In my 70s one fix was buying a gl1500 gold wing.
@timbarnett3898 if it's new rims and new tires. I'd 1st look for nails or screws. If there's none in the tire. Then I'd mix water and dish soap and on a jack spray down the threads of the tire. If there's no bubbles, then I'd spray side walls and rim to see if that's sealed. If that's good spray valve stem. If that's doesn't bubble then I'd check the valve in the stem. It could be loose, allowing air to sep by.
Custom wheels are leaking air even with new tires? I either want new wheels or have these wheels turned an corrected? HD custom wheels should not be leaking air pressure?
@timbarnett3898 sounds like they need to pull them and un mount the tires to check the rims. If they are that far off I'd be telling them I want a refund
I still have mine. But I like the dominator better. But I felt like it was better than stock out of the box. Everyone is different when it comes to seats
My Yamaha fz07 has EVERYTHING but levers and a seat and I cannot find the seat that I want because nothing looks quality for my bike and saddle men don’t make a seat for the fz07 and there is a huge aftermarket support for that bike so many people would buy one
Try to get as many people that ya know to contact them. They will see there is a need and possibly could start making it. That's what I did with klock works.
Mine was great right out of the box. That's why I say everyone need to test them and everyoneis different. It's a lot of money to feel like it's thrown away. Hopefully you found what fits you.
@@TweedleD I know a lot of people are really happy with theirs. The seating position was great it’s just after 50 miles it was brutal. I gave it a good chance though at 10,000 miles in two years.
@user-sp9wx4lv9w I get that. I do think they need the relief cut up the center like the dominator. That helps a lot. There's other things to take into consideration, like bars and suspension. A full suspension helps big time. Stock suspensions are not very good.
Rode my Saddleman seat 4800 miles in 14 days. If i didnt buy a wildass pad, i couldnt have done it. Switched to a Mustang and love it. No need for a pad. By the way this was my 3rd Saddleman. Wont buy another.
Harley MUST have an in with all of these aftermarket parts companies Why in Gods name would they sell $25k+ bikes with garbage seats and garbage suspension?!
@@TweedleD Bought mine with 265mi Changed seat, suspension, bars, stage 2, added other mods But man, the seat and shocks SUCKED right off the dealer floor!!
@RagnorLothbrook-f7e yeah the rgst seat i hardly made it to j&p cycles it was only a 18 min ride. I wanted to pull over and take the seat off and throw it in the ditch. I have suspension technologies rt front and rear and it's like being on a rail and it eats bumps. 1000% better than stock. I'm with ya tho hd does need to do better on seats and suspension
The dominator seems good is it carbon fiber on the seat? And or the quilted or stitched variety? And is it similar in height as the stock seat? And does it sit u farther back than the stock seat? Ur input would e appreciated…thnx
It has carbon fiber where your butt sits. Also, it does have a leather strip up the center where they recessed the foam in the middle. Now I have a stock solo seat. Stock is like 1/2 inch lower on a table, and it feels the same on the bike, tho. It is lower than stock 2up seat. Mine is the extended reach. I'm 6'5 and I'm comfortable on long rides.standaed my buddy says he does not feel cramped up. Says it's perfect for him. Also the carbon fiber does resist water so it is a wipe and go if it's wet.
@tweedleD any further information on the dominator? Or should I just check their website? Would like urgent input before I go there…any discount provided by u?
@davemeshamsr6000 definitely buy the back rest at the same time. It's sold separately. I do not have any discount codes but if ya call and talk to buddy or buster let them know you watched my video they might do something but don't hold me to that
@michaelroy925 i didn't have a problem with mine. But everyone is different. My best advice is to find someone who has it and ask if you can sit on it. Right now, I'm running the saddleman dominator. It sits lower, but I have done long distance on it and was comfortable. Keep in mind that the road sofa does sit you higher, so pending your windshield size, you can get buffering.
Couldn’t agree more on the Dominator! It was my favorite seat on my ‘19 SG. Now I’m waiting for Saddlemen to make it for the ‘24’s!!
I'm really impressed with the dominator. Hopefully they will release it soon for the 24's.
I loved my Kraus / Saddlemen Dominator seat

Great looking seat. Interested in a saddle man for my Goldwing
The groove in the Dominator also allows some cool air to cool the jewels, but….its also a rain channel that will leave your jewels soaking wet in a good rain
I had rain gear on, so I didn't notice. I'll have to check that next time it rains.

@Nevermore_Moto that's cool. I still need to get the rear pillion and the carbon back rest for the tour pack. So if I do go 2 up it all matches.
Good to see a true comparison video.
Thanks wanted to do 2 at once. Just my honest opinion and thing to consider
Yes
Ordered the dominator low profile...notified me it's in assembly today 😎
I do like how they keep the customer in the loop.

Seats can turn into a expensive mistake fast. Finding what ya like and then finding it on a bike in the dealership is the best way to go.
I did the same. I also didn't like the higher position. It put me above my windshield.
I got the drag specialty on my 2018 road glide and I love it

good comparison vid tweedle take care.
Thanks you too
I took my ST seat off as soon as I got home from picking it up at the dealership.
I hated that stock seat.
Purchase a saddle, Mann Road sofa, and it didn’t work for me ended up with a Mustang.
Yeah, hopefully, the message everyone is different try and them out came through. Saddlemen works great for me but not for everyone.
I have this same seat on my 19 CVO Street Glide and it is 100x more comfortable than the stock CVO seat Love this seat
Yeah I think it's great for long distance also
Thanks for the review
Any time

Le Pera Outcast with backrest is like dominator but wider.
@@teewhy2602 never had a le Pera good to know

Saddlemen Dominator awesome seat.
Had a Saddleman Road sofa for 45 min. Turned around took it back put the Harley Hammock back on and rode with a smile. That seat was awful.
I never had an issue, but everyone is different. I have heard the hammock is comfortable tho.
Hammock is a very comfortable seat.
Did the same! Hammock is Way Better than the Road Sofa!

Not impressed with Saddlemen road sofa seat. Amazing stitching, but was to soft. Had to go back to a “ Tall boy “ from Harley
How wide is the dominator seating area?
About 12 and a half in wide. Gliding on Twos is on a cross-country trip and will be doing a video on it also after he gets back.
Thinking about the dominator for my twin cam fatboy.
I think it's the best saddlemen. Definitely get the back rest.
Not a bad way to spend $900
