ILoveSami here. Craziest game I ever played on this site! I was not expecting Deejus to cover this one cause I was below the Rating Requirement at the time. When I played this I was 820 on GL and ~800 on LL. Also this game was a really baboony one. I ran out of time cause my client thought it was the other guys turn and I had not refreshed the page. Once I did, I had one minute to finish that turn and then having to play increment for the rest of the match. :X The idea behind that crazy attack was that I didn't want to give grit time to really pick up a death-ball of units cause they'd be no way of stopping him if he stockpiled more and more indirects. I didn't *have* to but those mountains and forests favor him once he gets in a confortable position. I was hoping the extra firepower from the planes and the sheer size of the attack would help destroy him. He ended up being very resilient and he had me on my toes! I learned a lot by spamming Fog Sami and I stopped being fiesty with my recons and cleaned up my play. I'm glad I took on this challenge cause I ended up hitting 900 GL on my main + all the lessons I learned from Deejus! I much prefer GL anyway, it feels nice having the space to try every single tactic before executing the best one. Thanks to Vile09 for the game and Deejus for covering the review!
Vile09 here! Wow I when I clicked this video I didn't expect to be there! Not my cleanest nor proudest game by any means, but I'm honored to be featured here! When I saw the map I instantly remembered it was a wild game haha Context: I have started my awbw journey about 6 months ago and have under 100 games under my belt, but I improved a lot thanks to your videos. Lately I've been playing only live because GL is too draining for me, but I find it more difficult. When getting matched with ILoveSami, I saw they had played 2 games and so I went in overconfident. I'm on a quest to learn every CO to become a more rounded player, so I picked Grit. All of this to say, I have no idea what I'm doing, especially with Grit haha A few comments about the game: - First time playing this map, I didn't plan anything at all. Didn't go for the airport since grit copters suck, didn't consider the t-copter, but it absolutely makes sense. I usually win with tactics more than strategic play, I should go and watch elagatua's vids haha - I was very passive with Grit because I'm used to playing offense with tanks and defend important tiles with artillery, and I knew I needed to accumulate the indirects to win. Also, I've been punished very hard for overextending in Fog in the past, and I think it made me too scared to push in fog (mostly in live where I don't have enough time to think). - For some reason, I didn't realize that artillery built from the middle base would come into play faster on the left. It would have been easier to put my strong side there. - I didn't go for the middle because there are more properties on the side so I thought it wasn't worth it, and I was scared of going in since I knew sami had a bunch of units hidden there. - I got tilted because I thought Sami voluntarily tried to run out their timer so I would stop playing (this is not live league) - I know I should build units first when you have low time, but I usually panic and don't do it haha - Building a t-copter on the right side would have been the play after the victory march, seems obvious once you know Thanks to ILoveSami for submitting this game and thanks Deej for covering it!
22:00 I can't believe it, but it happened. I follow AW games on many channels, and this is one of the very few times a missile shot, let alone more than once. It only took the player to use Grit and be surrounded by 3+ AAs, but it did it. Missile-chan is finally happy
I like how in every other video Deejus says "pull back on one side if you attack on the other" then he yells at grit for doing just that in this game :P
ngl, I watched this video because of the thumbnail. I wish I wasn't so monkey brained, but it worked. I'm liking your thumbnail game lately and quality content as always!
Deejus: recognizes that ILoveSami ran themselves out of time and will have to play on increment for the rest of the match Also Deejus: screaming and raving in confusion for the rest of the match about Sami playing recklessly and making poor decisions The ADHD brain got him, boys. GG
i'd add taht Grit specially loves hiding intel: being able to hide his arties and recons while he prepares his ambushes can be very effective. you should underestiamte Grit arties in fog, they suddenly are in your face without your knowledge. Recons are good, but they need protection! A dead recon gives no vision.
I remember being on the grit side of these match-ups frequently. It almost never goes in favor of Sami. Especially on this map, carriers and battleships are super viable, just save up enough funds to get a solid anchor.
Honestly the Grit player playing so passively might have worked to his advantage a little bit. I'm not sure what happened during the game but it may be felt like Sami got psyched out by not seeing any Grit pushes anywhere and got overly aggressive and walked right into death ball formations Edit after finishing: Maybe the passiveness wasn't the best overall but it did net Grit a huge comeback in the early/mid game
I'm pretty sure this track from PK has an instrumental version, could you use that instead of the one with vocals? It's distracting to hear one voice on top of another
That Grit player deserved to lose. That was abysmal to watch, he should have won. This is the problem with players using Grit, they're too scared to move up their artilleries, which basically makes Grit's d2d bonus moot. The whole point of his longer range is that it allows him to be more aggressive with his positioning since it's easier to back up your forward units with artillery support.

Well played, this game was quite a ride! Thanks for the game! I see for the timer, this actually happened to me yesterday, it's a very annoying bug

When the first 4 minutes of explaining the map are followed by 4 minutes of the exact opposite happening you know you're in for a ride
Gotta give to the guy, he does love Sami if he picks her in fog and T2
sami deserves to be t2 here, she is great on this map
@@mostern4008 Can't argue with that!
@@mostern4008good old Olaf rules there
I'm just amazed that the Sami player could manage practically all game on increment while fighting back
That is a super adorable Sami sprite in thumbnail
Grit shoulda build a battleship on that landlocked harbor
what a beautifully sung grit theme
blushes*
the monkey business victory march picture in the background of the co intros 😂😂
The real takeaway: Psyops your opponent grit into spamming AAs by spamming air units early and never build them ever again lol
Man that increment on Day 11 was a wild thing

Sami pulled through in the end. That victory match really turned rhings arouns even though it seemed like Sami had lots of misplays.
Props to Deejus for this renewed effort on the channel 👏🏽
I've been lovin it

Deejus steady taking my lunch money on live fog ladder.
Ya know... I've been watching your videos every time they appear on the recommended, might as well sub finally 😅
Sami is having quite the spotlight recently.

grits playstyle of balling up also helps sami, alot mroe properties open and without cover.
Fog is fun. More so if Deej does his thing
Deejus, you gotta start listing what your background music is. You have great taste.

Deejcember continues! So Sami’s tanks are better than Grit tanks so would Sami still use mechs since it’s hard for them to close the distance?
Is Sturm still broken on this map because he can jump infantry over the river for early caps and run rockets to the middle to secure the forests?
Mostly because all the vehicle reinforces go through forests and he'd reach the middle WAYYYY too fast, the mountain inf caps are also a big boost
@@DeejusProductions Thanks! Its been a few years but its good to know I still know a few things about the meta lol.
I always enjoyed this map, much more interesting than Feishui
hey this is kinda off topic but what is the background ost list deejus uses?
Paradise killer OST!
