    We could use another president like Mr. Carter. I love the family store. You sold what you grew. Thank you, Mr. Carter. You are one great person, and we could use more like you. Thank you, Jordan, for filming all this and telling us the Carter's story. Take care.

    Thank you Jordan for producing these two broadcasts on President Jimmy Carter. Over here, in Britain, President Carter has always been viewed as an honest, down to earth politician - a man of integrity. These two vlogs, filmed in his home town, very much reinforced this view. Whether in politics or in our home towns - we could do with more people like President Jimmy Carter.
    A great vlog.

    This was great Jordan! Being born and raised in GA l love Jimmy Carter! He and Rosalyn truly gave back to their country. When he ran for president was the first election l voted in,guess you know who l voted for! God bless him and the late Rosalyn Carter! I really need a road trip to Plains! The white pot with a lid sitting next to Jimmy's bed was a portable potty to use at night instead of going to the outside. This is so great they made this available to the public! Thanks for this, l really loved it! I hope President Carter makes it to 100! It will be a very sad day in Georgia when he passes! Take care and safe travels ❤️

    My Mom grew up in rural Mississippi and didn't have running water or electricity until she went to college in 1937. My grandparents did get running water and electricity about 1938.

    Awesome. Those days were filled with back breaking work. It made me think of my grandparents home and their farm. I loved staying with them in the summer.

    Fun fact I'm a black man, and Jimmy Carter is my cousin, my Great Great Grandmother was white and she was a Carter... Her and my Great Great Grandfather met and fell in love... To hear some of the stories is heartbreaking along with some beautiful stories....

    I noticed that both houses had chamber pots. Those were used in the night instead of having to go out in the dark to the outhouse.

    In my opinion THE most underrated president. Jimmy Carter came closer to brokering Middle East peace than any other president. IMO, he should've had a second term.

      A horrible economy and the Iran hostage crisis are among the things that sunk his chances at a second term

    Nice Video! Jimmy was one who always was kind. Seeing his family farm and how they lived was another reminder of how the world was so different and much more difficult than today. His legacy of love and good works lives on.

    Jordan, not only is the home tour free but also, if you go at the right time of the year, the pecans that fall from the trees around the boyhood home of Jimmy Carter are also free as well. I used to stuff them inside of bags by just picking them off the ground when I visited the house when I was younger. By the way, you should visit the nearby city of Americus if you get the chance and stop by the Windsor hotel. Jimmy Carter cut the ribbon when the hotel reopened, and he was a visitor to the hotel whenever he was in Americus.

    My mom liked Jimmy Carter so much. She spoke to him during his campaign and asked questions at a town hall gathering in our home town. It was such a meaningful time for my parents and uncle who was in Vietnam. I do think he was the most decent president. They don't make them like him anymore. I was a kid but remembered Peanut farming was his thing!

    His house reminds me of my granny's house in western NC. I'd be willing to bet on hot summer nights, Jimmy & his siblings probably slept on that back porch to catch any cool breezes. They used to call screened in, shaded porches like that "sleeping porches".

  • @misskat38
    @misskat38 23 дні тому +4

    So what you are calling the back is actually the front. Old houses faced the tracks or the road. Also they always had a hall straight through the house for the air to blow straight through. 😊

    Its amazing that a museum is unattended and free I remember going to museums in the Midwest no one was there displays of Antique rifles and other stuff no body bother it you looked and left also free years later I thought about it and no ways that could happen now people would steal thoses things what a shame it never crossed anybody's mind back then it was for all see not take
