Moon of Mine | Joanna Ampil & Adam Pascal | THE REAL LOVE Musical

The Real Love is an original musical inspired by the extraordinary, true story of world-renowned spiritual teacher, humanitarian and artist Supreme Master Ching Hai - The story of Master’s happy life with Her loving husband in Germany, and how She made an enormous sacrifice by leaving behind this very idyllic Earthly love in search of spiritual truth that would ultimately be shared to uplift all of humankind.
The musical opened at the Pasadena Civic Center in Los Angeles, California on August 2011. It featured an impressive 40-member cast led by West End leading lady Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables), Tony nominees Adam Pascal (Rent, AIDA) and Robert Torti (Starlight Express) and Tony winner Cady Huffman (The Producers) and Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden). Special guest stars include the internationally celebrated Tony winner Betty Buckley (Cats), Italian classical/pop star Filippa Giordano, Oscar winner Shirley Jones (Elmer Gantry, The Partridge Family), Tony winners Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish (stars of Billy Elliot), Emmy-winning singer Faith Rivera, actor and singer Tom Schmid, actor Dick Van Patten (Eight Is Enough), and Drama Desk Award nominated soprano Lynne Wintersteller, together with a 20-piece orchestra, and a team of esteemed composers directed by LA Drama Critics Circle Award winner Chris Shelton.

Amazing actors, amazing story. So touching, looks like the perfect romance, like a match made in Heaven, yet it had to be given up in search for a more noble goal in what turns out to be an utmpost dangerous adventure (as the rest of the musical shows) where the protaginst often questions if that was the right decision. Everybody who ever was in love can relate and don´t we all know that yearning for something higher, a real purpose and a noble mission? But to take it to this extend like in this story - it´s the ultimate sacrifice. So touching you will be in tears most of the time. Highly inspiring, highly recommended!!! And the actors really seem to be the perfect pic for those roles
