The very first thing I did : Put a bigger driver cup holder and attached a passenger cup holder together Looks pretty good. Replace abs module computer. Windshield wiper motor. Harmony balancer . Drive it with a lot of respect Looks pretty good. . Congratulations.

@@DrakenSolo ABSFixer Did the job in my abs module computer. I removed from my 01 c5 and contact them via email, took one week , they repaired the same unit. Cost me around 2 hundred bucks plus shipping. Good luck with it . I got to fixed it to past inspection
my first c5 3 years ago was just like yours! could not handle the automatic unfortunately, so i just picked up my second one last week. its a le mans blue, built 6spd t56, built ls1 with h beam rods, 10:1 high comp pistons, btr stg4 cam, kooks long tubed mounted to a pair of ported and polished 243 heads and a mcloud twin disc clutch. love it so much more than my older one. MAKE SURE TO GET AN LMC5 to bypass the column lock. biggest issues on these.

Of course it’s only my opinion. And maybe hindsight bias. The C6 design just doesn’t do it for me. The C5 and C7 are two perfect designs and the C6 is just a hella weird conversion of both.
my oil sensor was first thing to go. u have two choices.... either take the intake manifold off or make a trap door under wiper blade shroud. i made a trap door and its not visable once shroud is put back on

Just bought my mom’s ‘97 C5 all original with only 54k miles for $10k! Obviously that’s only bc she was selling to me, but as a kid being 10 when the C5 came out it was my dream car and so cool back then. So excited. Already ordered a Pioneer touch infotainment/radio with Apple car play and some minor mods to make it more modern inside. Anyways Contgrats man I feel your excitement!! 🙌🏻

My dad had a early 00's z28 when I was a kid and that was the problem, he gave it to me when I got out of high school but the transmission was so annoying that I ended up getting a stick shift GTI instead and giving the Camaro back to him
@@DrakenSolo Well if the trans ever does go out you don't have to get a new car or spend thousands to get it fixed you can do a manual swap for cheaper. I would've done that to the Camaro but I was a stupid kid and UA-cam didn't exist yet lol. Well hope you never run into any problems like that, nice car dude 🤙
I’m looking into my neighbors 1999 c5 with 32k miles for a deal of a lifetime I just want to get it checked out by my mechanic because it has sat for the past 2 years
The leaf system is outdated? That transverse leaf is used in the C5, 6, and 7... with great success! The C7 ZR1 for example !!!! Put Bilstein B8 shocks in it and install bigger sway bars... Good to go! Then put a Callaway cold air intake, American Racing Headers with high flow cats, X-pipe, mild cam, and Corsa exhaust. You'll have 400+ HP at the wheels and a permanent smile when you drive it...
Thanks for educating. Didn’t know they went up to the C7s. I think I still want to go with coilovers for this car. Especially since the parts are 25 years old. Might do some good. I do have a lot planned for this car so hopefully I can get around to all that
@@DrakenSolo Are you gonna race it on a road course? If not, there's no need for coil overs! Wasting money on that when other mods would be way more beneficial.... again, if you plan on doing a lot of autocross or other track racing then go ahead with the coil overs... I'd put that money elsewhere if you're not gonna race it.
C5 have the best curves of any Corvette in my opinion.... As for the cup holder they do sell really good aftermarket ones for it.

Auto is better for me so that’s what I got. If you’re always in traffic I’d say go with an auto unless you don’t mind the struggle
