- Known for its vast line of rotary-wing aircraft, Sikorsky is also looking to make a name for one of the precious few fixed-wing aircraft in its lineup, the M28 turboprop. Built by Poland’s PZL, which Sikorsky acquired in 2007, the twin-tailed, twin-engine M28 can carry 19 passengers in airline configuration, or a variety of other kit in a utility version. Included are cargo, paratroopers and medical litters. Aviation Week took a quick hop with the crew in March as they prepared for a two-month tour through the Caribbean and Latin America to show off the aircraft to potential buyers.
It's Antonov 28 upgraded by Poland.
This is not Sikorsky, it’s PZL Mielec based on Antonov.
With deeply modified wings, airframe, new engines, new avionics, one refueling point, not few refueling points, with new equipment in cargo apartmant and new landing gear. Yeah..it is antotnov. Buahahaha 😆
See Wikipedia: „The PZL M28 Skytruck is a Polish STOL light cargo and passenger plane, ...“ - It is not called Sikorsky, but PZL M28 = PZL Mielec
Nice rugged plane. Im surprised this machine is not in more widespread use. Ideal for Alaska. The cockpit looks very cluttered and outdated though and needs major modernizing. Two or 3 big Garmin displays, neaten up all those switches. A leftover of its Antonov roots I guess.
The Cessna Caravan is more practical in Alaska due to fuel prices.
If USAF special operations squadron use these for extractions of CIA agents in Iraq and Afganistan it is more than good.

Why the death grip on the yoke Cpt? Perhaps a helicopter pilot could show you something we call control touch (doesn’t apply to Bell pilots).
He was 'fighting' with that yoke, indeed😅
with the audio off, would be easy to mistake it for AN-28.
A bit upgraded soviet An-28
Bit upgraded? With new engines, propelers, wings, avionic and cargo compartment. Yeah that is bit 😆
It’s Antonov’s aircraft, not Sikorsky.
Looks like the Short Sherpa C 23
OMG: Sorry but this is not a f.... Sikorsky !!!
It is a plane (based on AN-28) but developed and built in Poland by the PZL Mielec, an old polish airplain and helicopter manufacturer and not by Sikorsky.
PZL MIELEC WAS PURCHASED BY SIKORSKY IN 2007.
@Leonardo: And? Skoda and Seat were purchased by VW but their cars are not called VW, but Skoda and Seat.
This plane isn‘t called Sikorsky, but PZL M28.

Don't be offended: it is marketed as the Sikorsky M 28, by Sikorsky, which in turn belongs to Lockheed-Martin. www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/products/commercial-aircraft.html
I’m not offended. Maybe it is marketed as Sikorsky, but only in America, probably for the USA clientele.
In Europe, Afrika and everywhere else on the world it is known as „PZL M28“. The Marketing in the USA doesn‘t change the facts: It is a Polish plane, developed and built in Mielec (Poland).
BTW: You can also see it as a Polish plane everywhere on the Internet, except here and on the Sikorsky marketing site for the USA clientel.
Is it important PZL to design Sikorski bought a factory and has the right to use his name proves it only so much that it's a good project and Sikorski is not afraid to use his brand to promote the unit
Former an 28 produced in poland...
Unstable approach! Sink rate!!!
Unstable for an airliner maybe - normal for a stol aircraft
This is a poor's man mini C-27J...No thanks ¡ I would rather take a C-23 Sherpa.
Lol it has performance so better than sherpa
