I'm sure I'm not the only 53+ year old gamer, but I am certain that I have been gaming a long time, longer than most gamers or even content creators have been alive. Silent Hill 2 is a game I have played since 2001 right. It has had a few Incarnations or Versions, right? the PS2 original, the Xbox version with born from a wish sub scenario, the PC Directors cut, and thanks to some awesome modders, the PC Directors cut can be Modified to become the Enhanced Edition, Which in my eye's id the Definitive version for me! Then Konami comes back and says they worked with Bloober and are making a Silent Hill 2 Remake, and I got excited because for as many times as I have Played Silent Hill 2, I was looking forward to moving the game forward, make it somewhat different, and I can handle the change. Not many others want a different Silent Hill 2, apparently most people want a copy and paste 1:1 copy of the same thing, but I don't get why they do when you can play the original version if that's what you want, and it come with a $70 price tag!!?? For that much money it better be a little different, because I want the games to stand out from one another! I want my classic Silent Hill 2 to be a classic, and the new to be Modern! So, for a game I am quite familiar with, I LIKE WHAT I SEE!
Couldn't agree more. In fact, I'm going to have my two teenage sons play this version first because it will be more accessible to them. It will make them more likely to play the original, which we can all admit, is NOT very accessible by today's standards. I mean depending on how this one turns out, but I've liked what I've seen since the beginning. I wouldn't say I had full confidence but I was always positive about what I saw. I absolutely cannot wait for this game. I haven't been this excited for a game in a long long time. I just pre-ordered the controller GameStop is releasing too! It's good to feel like it's 2001 again. I hope you enjoy it!! And I hope it brings back memories from when our bodies were a little more spry.
@@marcpelosi380 Thanks Bro man! I hope a lot more of us can just appreciate how much Care, attention and respect went into what SH2R turns out to be. And I hope you'll enjoy it for what it is as well!
I agree! Personally I have only played the original, and whilst I am very much enjoying that there are some throwbacks and references I picked up on from the OG, what really excited me about this trailer and the gameplay I've seen is the NEW and updated details (Maria's outfit, the environment etc). I think Bloober would be doing themselves and the community a disservice by copy pasting so I'm glad what I'm seeing isn't an indication of that! I hope you enjoy the game when it comes out 😊
I was 8 or 9 when the original promise trailer dropped! 20+ years it’s been….Wow! Although my young mind didn’t understand the big picture of SH2 I still loved it, the puzzles, atmosphere etc! My fiancé passed away 2 years ago so in a weird way I can actually relate to James character & the themes of SH2 on a more personal level! Huge fan of the first 4 games so I am so hyped to play this game with updated graphics & gameplay!
It is interesting to see how different players are enjoying SH. Because to you, it was a focus on the music and the character looking. You didn't seem to notice anything else. I also couldn't believe you saying "you want more thematic music to keep you going" ... I ... what? XD I don't know what to say but you seem new to SH and only played the 2nd one? because you had to understand the lore. I just keep imagining a thematic music in the background of boss fights and laugh because of how inappropriate that is. SH2 had the perfect music and silence pauses. I know it is very old school and not for everyone; especially the new generation but I truly hope no one stamp music everywhere ..Akira made the best iconic music for games. I think it is just not your cup of tea because it is some of the best gaming music out there :)
Yeah everyone's reaction is different and I love that! So for me, the music and characters were the most distinctive things I noticed, and as this was a first time viewing and reaction, I'm sure more will pop up when I rewatch or start playing. Also, since I was streaming this live, I usually miss minor details (as I'm often reading with chat). I am not new to the series, I have played SH1, 2 and 3 (and some of the Room) and I very much do appreciate and understand the lore - can't wait to see what they do with it in the remake 😊
