So, for the longest time I had no idea that this was a tribute to Doug Jones. Before I knew, I had my own interpretation of what this song was about. I imagined an actor, famous for playing monsters, who loves his craft but is tired of the fame and attention. So, the Devil offers to give him unparalleled talent, but he would never be able to remove his masks, meaning no one would be able to harass him. At first, it seemed like a good idea, until he eventually dies and realizes he can't enter Heaven because his face is covered by the mask.

I love the take on the angels and the devil. The devil wants Mr Jones to be ashamed and to deceive others, the angels want him to love himself and show his true face to others. The angels (and presumably God, who sent them) really seem to represent love and goodness in this song, unlike in the minds of many intolerant people.

    In the labyrinth, (Pan's Labyrinth)
In that lab your in, (Possibly more Hellboy reference, but also could have been a few other roles where he plays someone in a lab)
In the watery depths of Hell, boy (Hellboy)
You are so renowned in the underground
Even dead in a tale where the witches dwell (Hocus Pocus)
Eating all you know as a Wendigo (Fear Itself)
on a board soaring out to space, (Fantastic Four)
selling ice cream when, we are at the end, in a war between heaven and hell. (Legion)
These lyrics give me life. Please comment if I missed one.

Love it. The tune is great the melody, the tempos the sound in General is just soon...dark but upbeat and it almost had a Tim burton type feel to it with its creepy but light sound and it held a very nightmarish dreamy melody. It was beautiful. It's like a dark lullaby! My family was yelling at me blaming me for passing out on the couch. It was so relaxing. This sounds A LOT like a song that would belong in the 'To the Bottom of the Sea' Album. Is just has that swinging sort of tone that most of those songs.
That said, I still think that Voltaire has the most variety within all of his songs, which is partly the reason he's one of, if not the only, music artists I follow nowadays.
