Always a pinnacle of understated luxury but I lament at how much they've grown over the years, along with other BMWs and competing luxury cars. This 5 series is now a full sized car and nearly as big as a 7 series was not many years ago.
Coach, I have always found BMW to be well built after all they manufactured a Mercedes model one year and now a model for Toyota. I do like the seats in this new model which in my opinion a good seat is more than just comfort it's also important in an accident.
Paul's wife, Loveable❤ barbie doll Lauren Fix Car Coach Reports, congratulations on an excellent quality 2024 BMW 5 review. Beautiful vehicle, excellent explanation as always, love the Buffalo, NY accent and your test drives! ❤
My problems with G60 is the dashboard+center console screen board seems like a very lazy design. Also, the front kidney grill looks like Lego. I like BMW's typical kidney grill design, but this is just different. They wanted to emulate the air vent with drawn lines.😓 The side looks like a Toyota altis with the extra triangle at the end. With the blackened package it'd be even worse. What's worse, BMW's offering a 7-series interior and overall size (short 7-series), but they have to put a "5" on the side. Why...... And why ditch tradition BMW side design they've been using forever...? I prefer G30 by a mile. Especially now that I know it uses the same engine.
Mazda's CX-90 has some good bones, aluminum upper and lower A-arm suspension front and rear, a twin cam I-6 engine, read drive. Could it be a matter of time before they introduce a high end sports/GT car? Or a 5 Series competitor? I would give it a great deal of consideration if they did.
iDrive 8 is an abomination. The 8 shortcut buttons are gone. Climate control buttons are gone. Heated seats and ventilated seats are now have to be turned on / off in software. Manual turning on of low beam headlights and PARKING LIGHTS are in iDrive (on the X5 but I think there's touch capacitive garbage for headlight control on the 5 series). Was the turn-style headlight switch too complicated, for BMW? Even the HEATED STEERING WHEEL BUTTON is gone. No one can dispute that having to navigate a software menu to do simple tasks is easier and safer than a switch you can locate and turn on, without looking, by memory. The fact the common sense has been lost around this is totally mind boggling. Kool Aid drinkers will say use voice commands. But the voice commands are slow and half baked, at best. You can easily press a button and have your attention back on the road before the voice system is even ready to take your command. Won't buy another BMW until BMW undoes iDrive 8 buttonless stupidity.
Well said. Unfortunately many manufacturers are going in this direction, even the new Mustang they're probably prepping us for the transition to full electric.
It's not a redesign. It still looks like sh*t. The slab sides and high rear end are gross and inelegant. The car lacks any sporty vibe. Or is it intentionally designed for old farts who don't understand cars at all ?
Well produced video - don't like the brand. I suppose if it's a lease, I may be in. But for long tern ownership, and owning outside of warranty, car is too expensive to maintain (and probably as unreliable as most German cars if history is any indication). I hope with this model BMW invested more in R&D for long term reliability.

True
had my older 5-series for 8 years and happy with it, never seriously thought about upgrading it until now. Beautiful. Thank you
Are their any recalls for steering and brake issue?
For reference, the "My Mode" button does not adjust the height of the vehicle, as referenced at approximately 3:37 in the review.
At least they got rid of that godawful 4 series grill. Are they admitting it was a huge mistake now?
I agree

How to activate the blind spot !?
How do you view the mileage driven thanks
Coach - Thank you...what exact color is this car?

@@perrykoch5146 Thank you
Does this car have massage seat in front even as option or no.
@@rohansapha1608 It’s and option but not in our test car
Since when is X5 a "higher trim level"?

I wonder about the sharp edges on that huge TV on the dash, how safe are those? I know we are all belted etc, but those edges still bother me.
end government subsidies for roads
The 4 cylinder though decent power seems like it will be overworked in a car of this size/weight.

It is not an attractive vehicle. I hope that the redesigned 3 series (if it's not discontinued or goes full EV) doesn't adopt the style of this.
At least it doesn’t have buck teeth like some of the other trim levels🤣
It is very attractive vehicle.

This is 2025 right
2024
Looks like a giant money pit to me.
And here I thought that Lexus was ugly!
😂
My former neighbor who works for the BMW dealership on Main Street in williamsville NY is not impressed with their cars. Electrical and engine issues
idrive8 is horrible!

Nope - performance SUVs is where it's at! Porsche Cayenne and such -> room + performance + safety in accidents + towing + tough weather capabilities + tough terrain capabilities.

I agree - al ease makes sense. Thank you!
Germans vehicles are more reliable than anything Americans brands could ever offer.
